Thank you so much Salt for talking about this subject. It was so lovely listening to Brittny and her experience and Godly take on things. It's not always physical disabilities but invisible disabilities too. I have epilepsy and have found people will be all too happy and enthusiastic to talk to me until I tell them I have epilepsy, then more often than not they will just simply ghost me or slowly but surely wean the conversation off. For me there's a certain amount of dread attached as I'm just ready for them to disappear, it will usually be in the "so what do you do for a living" kind of questions that it comes up- it makes me appreciate the ones who stick around and take the time to truly know me even more!

This is a very complex topic to dissect, but I wanted to focus on what Lauren said about getting in a dismissive 'no, no, no' mindset. I think oftentimes it's women who are choosy like that - I'm sure the stats will agree that women swipe 'no' far more often. Biologically, women carry more 'risk' than men when it comes to sex, so they must choose well. Also, women are the fairer sex, so naturally they're more attractive on a dating profile that's a few photos and a snippet about them. Men however provide their value in ways that aren't based on looks, that can't be easily captured for a profile. Since men and women are attracted to somewhat different things, I don't think a dating app can ever balance things - as good as SALT is, it can't fix that kind of systemic imbalance. If you ask men and women what is difficult about dating - women say it's finding a quality match, and men say it's getting any matches. At the end of the day, the best option remains to trust in God's goodness and His provision.

Dating apps are certainly a tricky environment

To work together. But honesty is important. ? Does Age differece matter to you

That's a good question for another video - is age difference a deal breaker?

Interesting perspective. CP isn't generic or passed down and infertility affects non disabled women and men. But I pray you find your person and have many healthy children, and grow in your understanding of the world and others too. God bless you!

Based Christian men want children and in my case want many children. Having a disability excludes you from that selection process. It isn’t ‘his’ loss, it’s your loss. But you can still date and find someone right for you
@alexemily59452 жыл бұрын
Having a disability doesn’t necessarily stop you having children.
@be_salt2 жыл бұрын
That's true, often a conclusion people jump to
@ghgghhggghhh2 жыл бұрын
@@alexemily5945 it doesn’t- but if your genes are faulty there’s a biological disincentive for a man to want to have children with you.
