Both Gohan and Kid Buu has been used a lot by Truth (albeit Kid Buu way more), and one of the 2 "dies a lot", while the other doesn't really gets criticized that much. For being the number 2 unit in the game, I think Gohan has died way too much, especially considering how Truth always says he uses his experience as a metric when making the tier lists

A floating support gets exposed way less than a unit who is costantly on rotation and of which you sometimes run two. But even aside from that what people use to argue the family unit as number 1 or 2 isnt how tanky they are(And in standby they even got that covered) its the broken abilty to just skip an entire phase of an event by nuking it. Mind you they do have holes in their kit I just think that deaths on screen is an unreliable metric to evaluate them

Which has nothing to do with what you've talked about. My comment was a provocative one, because a lot of times truth says things that are easily disproven by the actual statistics. Having said all of this, I still don't but the gohan top 2 thing, because he can be caught pretty easily compared to other characters, some of which are even some tiers below him. And consistency is something I value a lot in a character

I had a different experience with him. First time i used him he just shit out a 22mil attack stat and dodged everything. He has the 100% defense before attacking because he gets 100% defense on super effect. The extreme class condition and transformation turns are his hugest weakness. The locking in slot 1 isnt as big a deal as you make to be because he doesnt need to get hit, unlike SSJ4. You place him where the orbs are and run full dodge. He is a nuking character in base for gimmick fights, which means he will be at a heavy advantage with items. These types of characters werent designed with no item end game content in mind. You could take him into Gogeta right now and use a nuking item and one turn him, because that is his intended role. If not, then it is much better to take out of slot 1 when necessary and follow the orbs for him as he needs zero build up or stacking, so its fine to float him.

Replace both Dodge 30%s with an extra 20% Damage Reduction and on one with 60% Defense n 20% DR rather than full Extreme Rotation have it be when HP is 50% or more at Start of Turn, And rather than 100% Defense Before Attacking just give him base line 100% both Attack And Defense at Start of Turn and change other 100% to when Attacking in Slot 1 or 2, That way hes can get every buff in Slot 2 and hes got a Multiplicative Star of Turn Stat Buff, Bro if hes in Slot 3 n Super Class Ally on turn he literally has 0% Defense from Passive, Not Even Base Line Start of Turn Defense!!
