Very nice work! I have an orange, #052, '74 620 with an SR20DE from an S15. You've got great Ideas and talent, keep going! I don't do that work but I'm enjoying the series.

Thanks for watching! 🙏 if I had to do it all over I'd probably go with the non turbo SR as well, sounds like a cool truck!

Hello, when I bought my last 240sx. It came with those maxispeedy or whatever coilovers. I'm now on bc's. The maxispeedy things look to be 3 3/4 od spring. The bc's look to be 3 1/4 od spring. Quite a difference in space. You'll have more room with the bc's. I run bc's in 3 of my cars. Imo I wouldn't go with psm pbm coilovers. 2 of my friends ran them. They both blew them relatively quickly. Bc's also offer extreme low and no extra charge. But with how high your 620 is I dont think you'll need them✌

Thanks that's super helpful! The ride height is pretty high on the 620 but I had to set the suspension height quite low to achieve this so the BCs may be the way to go! Thanks again

Awesome build man. Been following as I'm doing vq 620 and going over front suspension setups. Any reason why you didn't go mustang ii? That's the route I'm about to go, but I dIg the idea of 240 geometry. Not sure how well the mustang setup is going to handle
@PortysChopshop3 жыл бұрын
That sounds awesome! I did look at the mustang ii stuff but from the measurements I could find it would have caused bump steer issues, so I went all 240sx stuff.

@@PortysChopshop Yeah I had same problem when trying to figure how to rack and pinion the factory setup. Already got beebani front setup but not a huge fan. The lower weld on control arm pivot points are way to close together for heavy braking. Got a whole donor G37, pretty tempted to see if the whole front end can be scabbed in, just gonna have ridiculous track width
@PortysChopshop3 жыл бұрын
Yeah a 240sx is a bigger car but the G37 is a whole other level of width I'm sure! Beebani's stuff is mm ok, I feel it's definitely more oriented towards minitrucks and the sort than performance, at least from what I've seen.

@@PortysChopshop Yeah the adjustable uppers are cool. Heims kinda suck because they develop slop pretty quick. Quick P.S A. The lower is downright dangerous though. Mine ripped a 4"x6"hole on the inside of my frame rails after doing a "emergency brake test" after the swap w/ big brake upgrade. Truck jumped the median and I damn near hit incoming traffic before I got it under control. If you look at the stresses on that bracket it is putting the Welds on tension which is the worst force for a joint. When it let's go the wheel gets jammed into the firewall and locks up. Sketchy shit. now you see why I'm looking into alternatives lol.

@@PortysChopshop Here's the fishplate I had to add to fix it. Ran a 1 inch bolt through the frame to sandwich it all together for "piece of mind" photos.app.goo.gl/rkZDGVrSen9eqYzz6

Is that your end ride height goal? Don't you think you should set your actual height before welding all of that and set your alignment goals based off that? Also - If you can find/borrow a tubing bender, you should totally use dom tubing and save yourself some time rather than notching square shit. Plus it'll look nicer haha.
@PortysChopshop3 жыл бұрын
It will probably be an inch lower than that and on 17s when I'm done. I can't actually set a real ride height with load on the springs without having it welded to the frame, it's a chicken and egg situation 😂. I think I am leaning towards the dom as well!

What are the chances of me getting you to make me a set of those coilover cups? Or atleast just the flat plates? 🤔
@PortysChopshop3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, for the same coilover? It's possible depending on metal prices lol
@softbodyfab75883 жыл бұрын
@@PortysChopshop well, I don’t have coilovers yet. I guess I was just assuming that’d be pretty universal. Maybe I’m wrong.
@PortysChopshop3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely need the coilover measurements to make one that worked, but if you get some just shoot me and email 👌
