Datsun Z. 280Z L28 Head Rebuild. 240Z 260Z.

Hi Folks.
So this ended up being a bigger challenge than expected. The head I bought was not great at all needed a lot of work. Then decided to chance going down the route of manually leveling the cam shaft. Dodgy approach but worked out.
Now I'm going to reassemble it all and see how it matches up with the block. I might have to come back and install tower shims to get the exact height back again.
Hope ye enjoy and I am opened to criticism on this one over my approach.

I would shim the cam towers up instead of sanding off. It helps keep the timing where it should be based on chain length.

Couldn't agree more. Sleep dept of having the young one didn't help. This process is for heads that don't have a flat plane upper section but works just fine anyway
