She's been shot, starved, tormented her entire life by her own father, and breaks down in tears at the thought of losing her long hair? Interesting. I fell like there's something to say about longterm mental abuse and not knowing what will be someone's breaking point, but it doesn't sound like the book is clever enough to understand the nuances of mental health and make a commentary about it. I just came from your other video so it sounds like another hallow punching bag at male authority. Also I can't help but wonder why she cares about long hair if she started off the book trying in disguise as a boy? Wouldn't our super smart protag want to wear her hair short anyway to disguise herself faster?
