Daughters of Liberty, a loose knit group of women who supported the effort for Independence, were very active as the conflict over American independence developed in the 1770's. American women were appointed to Committees of Correspondence and Inspection to go out in their communities and gather information. Here in part one of a two part adventure Mercy, Mary and Hannah inspect the women camp followers looking for spies and traitors. They inquire as to the background of the camp followers, their associations, their loyalties and their preferences that might indicate a favored political side. They look for personal stories which might point to underlying troubles or misdeeds. They are the women's compliment to the Sons of Liberty.
