This song resonates with me pretty strongly. Growing up with two parents who had drug issues (RIP both of them now,) my mother went thru a phase in her life and ended up in prison and eventually cleaned up her life. I remember so many times from my father how he would go through the destructive cycle of drug abuse to try and straighten his life out so many times...the pain, the regret, the heartache and all the rest of it...and having to hold onto it for years without being able to say anything out of respect or fear; this song will forever hold a place in my mind and my heart.

'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground. This love is killing me, But you're the only one. It's not over. Taken all I could take, And I cannot wait. We're wasting too much time Being strong, holding on. Can't let it bring us down. My life with you means everything, So I won't give up that easily. I'll blow it away, blow it away. Can we make this something good? 'Cause it's all misunderstood. Well, I'll try to do it right this time around. Let's start over. I'll try to do it right this time around. It's not over. One of those days as I was driving down a random street when this song came on the radio and once the chorus hit I had to pull over, I don’t cry often but damn the tears just started flowing. bucky468 Wouldn't one of the necessary parallels be,..that they were in the same genre of music? Christopher Cross..was Pop music...As far as I know, Daughtry is not...And their styles are very very different...Christopher Cross' music was over polished..over published..and very plastic....Daughtry is all real..very real...very earthy..very much from the ground up..which makes his music lovely...in a natural earthy way..And that is why I am a fan...He is not plastic at all. I never liked Christopher Cross...couldn't stand his plastic music..nor Styx...OMG...plastic, contrived, stilted,..awful..like so many others... Daughtry knows where his balls are...which is why he is so believable. Christopher Cross sung like he had none...not sure he did.

Lyrics: I was blown away, what could I say? It all seemed to make sense You've taken away everything And I can't deal without, I try to see the good in life But good things in life are hard to find We'll blow it away, blow it away Can we make this something good? Well, I'll try to do it right this time around Let's start over I'll try to do it right this time around It's not over 'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground This love is killing me, but you're the only one It's not over Taken all I could take, and I can not wait We're wasting too much time Being strong, holding on Can't let it bring us down My life with you means everything So I won't give up that easily I'll blow it away, blow it away Can we make this something good? 'Cause it's all misunderstood Well, I'll try to do it right this time around Let's start over I'll try to do it right this time around It's not over 'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground This love is killing me, but you're the only one It's not over We can't let this get away Let it out, let it out Don't get caught up in yourself Let it out Let's start over I'll try to do it right this time around It's not over 'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground This love is killing me, but you're the only one It's not over Let's start over It's not over, yeah, yeah This love is killing me, but you're the only one It's not over

This video is about a man who did wrong in the past, so he went to prison. But when he got out of jail, he found out that his girlfriend was waiting for him for so long, to come back to her. Also, he found out that he had a child. When he saw that he had a family of his own who still loved him, even though he done bad things long ago. He was really happy. So, he wanted to change his life around to help take care of his family. He loved his girlfriend and his daughter so much. He didn't want to lose them. So, he went out to look for work to provide for his girlfriend and daughter. When he found work, he earned a little bit of money to go buy something special for his girlfriend. When he got home, she was there, then he got on his knees and asked her to marry him. The best part was, she said yes. Now they were a true big/happy/loving family.
