Trailer tires will be cheaper to recap them well virgin tires you recap them used for drives then they recap it and they are used for Tandems but you can read the tires on the side walls and they are stamped for each recap the most you can retread a truck tire is 3 times And it’s about 125 bucks or depending upon where you are too So you can retread your virgin tires 3 times total and you can read the stamps on the side of the tires I prefer not to recap tires but you don’t travel over the road and you are local and you are in sand pits and rock quarries great channel you have 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Always lock your tailgate after you dump. First thing you do when your box comes down.
@mikel95672 жыл бұрын
What makes you think she didn't lock the dogs? Did you even watch the video? If you're referring to her spilling rock on the ramp, that was because she wasn't lined up properly, had nothing to do with locking the dogs. You aren't going to secure the dogs when you are raising and lowering the box to dump your load. Had you paid attention to the video, you would have learned that the hopper she is dumping into is small and you have to lower the box to keep from clogging it. You can't dump your entire load into it. I've been to this plant and everything she did was correct.
@intothewinn75322 жыл бұрын
The dump box was empty because she had to dump and switch material. You watch the video again! . when she was walking around the back checking things out and setting her chains. If you payed attention you would have seen they were not lock. They were locked on the pup trailer but not the truck. But really don't care at this point. Enjoy your day !

We just dump the agg and washed sand in big piles and they use a Cat 980 to feed a multiple hopper set up to feed the plant. I'm only about 15-20 minutes from the asphalt plant I normally haul from which also has a quarry that we haul from to feed their other plants with agg. We'll be cranking up here in Maine in another week to 10 days. Will be good to climb in my Pete tri-ax and put the 600 ponies under the hood through their paces
@gerryhartung7362 жыл бұрын
At the plant I worked at, we used double bottom hoppers for drop feeders. That way 2 products if necessary. if, 1 sand, 1 rock, or two sizes 🪨
@JohnR-NZ2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, feeding a bitumen plant I did a bit of that here in Wellington NZ back in the '70s for the council, we had a 6x4 Atkinson tractor unit with a quality English fibreglass cab 😱😱 and a 3 axle dump trailer for 18 tons and at the plant we reversed up a ramp to dump but the hopper was big so you could dump the whole load straight away. On one memorable day I had I had carted in two loads of sand and was now dumping my first load of chip when I heard the operator scream on the radio that I was to be bringing in another load of sand and he still had feeder set to sand !!!!!! Then realised he had been distracted and forgotten to tell the Quarry. I was really glad it was a Friday and not a Monday, bad days happen in any job and any country, keep that smile and keep doing what you're doing 👍🤗🇳🇿

Here in Georgia we don't use those trailer dumps at all. We stock pile to plants usually literally next door. Pay loaders load the hoppers at the asphalt plants here always. Asphalt and milling are my favorite! We have one asphalt plant where the rock actually has to be trucked in from 10 miles away which makes their asphalt more expensive.😀

What I used to do is when you’re chaining up your tailgate make a fist, ( if you have a small fist stick out your thumb a bit and run the chain over it)put it on the bottom of the tailgate(pinky side against the gate) and run your chain over your clenched fist loosely. That’ll usually make it that you’re tailgate opens about 4-6” or so which is good for most small aggregate(sand, A gravel) I used to do it that way spreading gravel so the grader wouldn’t be left with a big lump lol.

Awesome video! I've done the same kind of work like that only to a concrete plant. The hopper was like you were describing where you could dump your whole truck and not have to wait. I guess I got over ambitious on my last load and didn't realize the hopper was almost full when dumping the truck, so when I went to pull through with the pup, I had a nice pile to dig through first. I had pretty awesome co-workers that just drove by slowly and laugh......my mistake but was lucky that it was only sand. Lesson learned, took my ego down a bit but cleared right back up later that night at hotel and had some laughs and beers with the guys.

I realise that the state or states have different axle loadings verses New Zealand, our largest bulk units have 4 axles on the truck 2 single tyre 2 dual tyre, 5 axles on the trailer 2 dual at front on dolly 3 dual at rear, but none of them have such a long drawbar/ reach as you call it, that is crazy long and can understand why there is that flashing light on it to stop people trying to park in between the truck and trailer.

I've had my CDL-A license for thirty-three years now and have been driving commercially for forty-four years. Been driving construction related trucks for thirty two years with fourteen years driving truck and pups and currently a double bottom dump for the last seventeen years. One thing I will say is you should never dump out the truck before you dump out the trailer, the reason being is that by doing so you put a tremendous amount of stress on that trailer tongue. This will cause the tongue to develop stress cracks over time and eventually it will break and separate from the trailer ( usually at the wrong time ).
