I was a bit older when I got into vk/jrock maybe 14 or 15, but p2p file sharing services and early KZbin really helped popularize jrock and visual kei for people like us abroad. I was also downloading stuff like this and putting it on a cheap mp3 player. Also the only one into it in my high school, but as soon as I started college, I found a few people who also like it, and some jrock bands came to America, so I went to concerts! It was a great time, the 2000s and early 2010s.
