I watched him regularly on an American broadcast of his shows. I liked him because he didn’t just tell jokes. He fused stories with a punchline and he was intellectually so far above most joke/punchline comedians.

Dave wasn't a comedian. I never heard him tell a joke or have a gimmick. He just sat there in his chair( and later stood there) and talked and made us laugh

If only we could teach the comedians of today to tell jokes about women like this. It's not about the issue of joking about women, it's the whole "don't you hate women?" thing. This is a classic example of a joke that punches sideways, because it's both sides of the equation being mocked. He was a very talented comedian and he always kept it classy. This is fucking funny!
