Only thing I don't understand. Why are black people called African Americans and not just American? I don't get called European American. Hispanic people don't get called Mexican Americans. Middle Eastern people don't get called middle eastern Americans. Etc. In your life if you lived or were born elsewhere then moved to America then yes I could see that. I’m an African born in America. An American citizen. That’s the fact of the matter. At one point being born in America did not result in citizenship for Africans. We all know the history. The problem has always been that some people don’t accept the humanity of others and think they can mistreat them. Exposing their lack of spiritual evolution. We are living with that aftermath. Unfortunately there is no agreement among us on the proper resolution of the situation.
