@@ranjanbiswas3233honestly no. It's great that they stepped in. But there would have been nothing to buy and no sales pitch if Ian hadn't buckled down and really made everything happen to make it something viable to buy. It was about to be sold for parts. Ian got connections and legal people together to really sell the company and save as much from the old stuff as possible. While hiding all the ups and downs from his employees. They might get in legal trouble but I would love it if they actually do it lol, plus it would be cathartic for all of them
@bekahswanson Жыл бұрын
@@notjustlaura6708 that’s what I was thinking too lol. It would be incredibly cathartic for them lol. I imagine they wouldn’t get into any legal trouble as long as they didn’t give away private info from the company. With the amount of info about Defy they’ve given through Smosh videos and SmoshCast, they probably have enough material to work with. They could also take a route like Shayne did and make fun of their recommendations for skits lol. I imagine that if Tommy did a Will reading for Defy it would be pretty funny, considering they left nothing for Smosh lol
@notjustlaura6708 Жыл бұрын
@@bekahswanson I read in other comments that Tommy stole a pc from Defy, I'm sure he has a lot of things to say on the will reading. Also I imagine Jackie going to the stand and saying something like "I have no fucking clue why I am here, I wasn't there" and leaving inmediately lol. Also some of the old members could do a cameo. I'm so mad that I'm going to miss Ian's funeral the 30th, I love this dynamic so much lol

Maybe they’ll end up uploading it a month or so after the live show. I might buy tickets but I’m not quite sure, my nephew is due that day so I might be busy that day lol. I realize that shayne's "making giggles for 8 year olds" was not only why they were so popular for 2010s but why they were unhappy. They couldn't be as mature, they were stuck making content for early teens, they clearly had to be a character, and same for Games in that time. And it became not fun and it went so far that anthony quit. But at the same time they were doing VERY well, so while people think "old smosh used to be better" for mid 2010s.... it's because it was written for you to like it because of your age.
@kilnareth7970 Жыл бұрын
Facts of the highest order.
@nateb188 Жыл бұрын
EXACTLY! I think that’s also what killed smosh, because I think if smosh was doing the type of skits they do now like 5-7 years ago they wouldn’t have been called “childish”. I love smosh tho so they could upload 10 hours of shayne and Damien staring at a wall and I’d watch it 😂😂
@kiwaminski Жыл бұрын
You hit it square on the head. Most if not all of their demographic in the early 2010s was 7-12 year olds. Thats when I started watching them, anyway. We grew out of it, but Anthony and Ian couldn't, since most of their fanbase was still in that age group and they'd risk losing most of their fanbase if their humour matured alongside the channel.

Probably not as much. From what they've all have said, Ian and Anthony (and later Ian alone) took a lot of the brunt of it and tried to shield the team as much as possible. Shayne will have experienced the general bad vibe and choices but not all of the stuff Ian had to.
