Good for you. As for myself, I won't miss the mannerisms, affectations and endless melismas of Jeff Buckley's version. Gahan's take is much more honest, heartfelt and natural to my ears. PS: Tim Buckley is IMHO a far better artist and singer than his son. You may check his London concert: he is mesmerizing.

Gahan definitely captures for me the songs elegance. love something I never knew before, like the lyrics in the song. What's more, the love Jeff had in his mind when he wrote Lilac Wine and then performed it. What a special moment ...your opinion is excellent !!
