Point is, it’s not that easy to say “we will just draft one” go look at all the starting QBs and see where and when they got drafted and what their teams were like before and even still. Carolina swing for the fence and look how bad they are. Traded away two of their best players to try to get thier guy. This is just one example of many. If you really think that a roomie QB will come and win right away then you crazy and who is going to be the coach? That’s a factor that NO ONE has mentioned. It’s not Madden

No one ever mentions that Dak is 2-5 in the playoffs, and the 2 wins were against a declining Russell Wilson and a declining Tom Brady. To think he can get to the Superbowl especially after being embarrassed by Green Bay last year is wishful thinking!

Has anybody thought the reason why DAK might not be getting paid is because they took a chance on a first round talent and Trey Lance. I mean we see Brock purdy and let's just be real I don't think personally that he's a top 20 actual quarterback in the NFL The record is one thing but my God the talent around him is insane. So thinking about that maybe the Cowboys are thinking tree Lance and the rest of our talent maybe good enough to be a 49ers and get to the Super bowl. I mean we've only seen what three games of Trey Lance and he's super young and he has all the intangibles

The reality is that he's played 24 total games at QB in his entire life, 20 of which were in college. Right now, Lance is trying to earn a backup spot over Rush, and he has no contract after this season. Teams don't just throw away an All Pro QB for a guy who's in year 4 and has played a total of 4 games.

@@bdgrey What I'm saying is the Cowboys are about that to pay CD Parsons Ferguson Tyler Smith. They spent that pic on Trey Lance for a reason he's a first round talent, And he's cheap. Dak is getting into his '30s and will be closer to his mid-thirty soon. If they pay him they may lose some of their other top-end talent. They're trying to build a roster more along the lines of a San Francisco because we can't build by Kansas City because he's not Mahomes.

@@MC-ej4to He was a first round talent in the same that way that Zack Wilson was a first round talent. One good year in a minor conference at the right time, whereas prior to that year no one had ever heard of him. And it doesn't matter if Dak is getting into his 30's. He's going to play at a high level for at least 7 more years, and he'll be in his prime for another 3. He's a pocket passer, which means he doesn't rely on athleticism and running in order to be effective. As for losing talent, it won't matter who you have on the team if you don't have a QB. Look at the Jets the last couple years. Look at SF the last 5 or so years. Both those teams have been absolutely stacked, and while SF has seen some success, they still haven't gotten it done b/c they have relied on guys like Jimmy G and Purdy who have very clear limitations. But, maybe Lance works out, maybe he doesn't. History says he won't and that if Dallas moves on from Dak, we'll be drafting a new QB every 3-4 years for what could turn into 10-15 years.

If they pay Dak, then Cee Dee, they won’t have enough to pay Micah or any other FAs. Personally, I’d trade Micah and let Dak walk. Then you could use one of the 1st Round Picks on a new QB, though I think they should keep the extra 1st Round Pick until there’s a no-miss QB (or as close as you can get, like Aikman, Elway, Mahomes, etc). Dak’s subpar play in the Postseason is enough to make me pass to look for the next Mahomes.
