I seriously dig Eubanks: his syncopation, his mini-themes. He creates spaces & uses it brilliantly.

I've been listening to Dave Holland's various bands/music for a the last 10 years or so, and one of my favorite aspects of his music is that he has abandoned the piano (largely), and many times replaced it with Steve Nelson. Nelson's style is so weird and unusual (and frequently dissonant), I just love the way he makes the music feel.

Steve is there to make you feel uncomfortable and force you to listen. Once you do, you will have been recalibrated to your very sonic essence, and realize that the seemingly prior unusual, is really normal 🙂

¡aaAH! ! 5:40 The elephant is n0t going to break away from the herd but w yet more to let on about. Nothing like EUBANKS ! And nothing like Dave Holland Quintet to bring brilliant complexity to my brain and joy to my heart . Employing massive communicative skills ~ always uplifting.🏇
