One of rhe greatest musicians of all time. Remember my first Dave Mason song was also on the Old Grey Whistletest, he was singing Split Coconut. Hooked ever since. Still thinking Mariposa de Oro is the absolute gem of an album. And get well soon Dave .

Fun Fact - The Song 'Silent Partner' was mistitled on the 'Headkeeper' album as 'Hear We Go Again' which was a song he did with Cass Elliot.

Such a great singer/songwriter, he must be very hard to get along with.He should have been rich and famous beyond his wildest dreams.Sadly he seems to walk away or asked to leave all his bands.

are you talking about Traffic? Winwood and Mason and the other band members just went their own ways, had their differences. Dave went solo and formed the Dave Mason band. It was a super band consisting of the great late Jim Krueger, Gerald Johnson on bass. Mike Finnigan on keyboards, Rick Jaeger on Drums. That was an incredible band that did the Certified Live 1976 Live Album. He had other band members over the last 30 plus years after Krueger passed away. Gerald Johnson his great lefty Bass player played with him all the way even in recent years. So no Dave was not a hard guy to get along with, He has played with Jimi Hendrix and many other great musicians over the years. Here is a bit about Dave: Mason is a proponent of music education for children. In 2005, he signed on as an official supporter of Little Kids Rock, a non-profit organisation that provides free musical instruments and lessons to children in American public schools. He sits on the organization's board of directors as an honorary member. Mason also is a founding board member of Yoga Blue, a non-profit organisation devoted to teaching yoga and other holistic practices to those recovering from substance abuse and other self-destructive disorders. Mason and his longtime friend Ted Knapp have founded Rock Our Vets, an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity supported by many other musicians, helping military veterans and the families of law enforcement and firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.[19] The charity has focused on providing food and clothing to homeless veterans, laptop computers for veterans aspiring to continue their education, as well as suicide prevention.

@@Fritzw75 Sadly Mike Finnegan RIP has also departed to the great gig in the sky. It's also a shame there is still a rift between Dave and Steve Winwood, the only other living member of the original Traffic band....

I know is late for the response but the the keyboardist is Mike Finnigan. Sammy Kershaw is a country music composer that never played with Mason, in fact, Kershaw is way too young to have ever played with Mason

@@EduardoLemus-hb6sn I'm the keyboardist on the first video, all the rest of the band songs feature Jai Winding. Mike Finnegan followed Jai in the mid-to-late '70s.
