One of the best live recordings ever. Sometimes the live version brings out the best of the studio version. This live version really accentuates the song. The first time I heard this song I was driving limousines and the limo owner had the CD in the CD changer and right as I started up the car and started to drive off this song came on and I heard Dave Matthews Band for the first time. I was immediately drawn to their music and Carter Buford really inspired me as a fellow drummer. Funny how things happen. Sorry I missed out on a lot their music early on. DMB Number 41 is also a gem. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing.

The difficulty of this song must be like 12 out of 10. The mixed meters and funk rhythms show some incredible musicianship.

@@ecoRfan Absolutely. Gotta love all the modulations between 5/4 and 6/8. I transcribed the drum parts in ‘99. Needless to say, I had my work cut for me.

DMB are so amazing with their unique style of music!! There's no way to compare them with other great artist. I grew up listening to them, and yeah they've changed in some ways, but they never lost that special thing that makes them who they are. It's sad that some people just don't understand it....

I remember seeing this song live at RFK on my 16th birthday. I went so nuts when Pantala hit and they cranked into this tune. It was pure bliss on so many levels. The band comes together as a solid unit on this song and they just become amazing!

What you say is true, yes, but it also happens to just about every good musical group out there over time. This group has been around for over 20 years now, of course they're not fresh. They change, and their music changes accordingly. And the reason they get these "immature kids" coming to their shows is because they have become so popular that even "immature kids" have heard stories of their greatness. That is no crime, my friend.

Gabriel Bartolomei especially at the beginning. Pickup notes and syncopated funk rhythms on top of five-quarter time signature. Anything but straightforward, yet rocks crazy hard and accessible to those who aren’t into math rock. DMB is seriously incredible.

no need to be hostile hot shot. DMB is the largest grossing touring band of the modern era, and done when theres shit like youtube where you can just watch any concert. This song is great live or studio, if your not a fan, just let it be at that. or just smoke something and put on the central park concert, maybe you'll be a fan then!
