To all those who say that it's bad playing. What did you expect really? Have you ever listened to a musical instrument on its own? Or are you just used to hearing mixed music and this just feels strange?

I think most people are used to hearing it in a mix. I play guitar and know from experience that it sounds different by itself.

Up the Irons!

Wow this is awesome how you can isolate their playing like this, I can tell the difference in style from Dave, Adrian, and Janek, Dave's super fast and fluid and Adrian has a really unique style of bends and legato combined and Janek is really fast like Dave , I saw them live at the Tacoma dome several years ago on the book of souls world tour and they sounded amazing and I was so glad I finally got to see my favorite metal band finally before I possibly never got to see them ever, eventually they'll be retired and done.

Oh absolutely, he's the best technical player in the band. But his style is definitely blues-based hence his super distinctive vibrato. When I heard Adam D. from KSE the first time I could tell who his big guitar influence was, he has almost the same vibrato

Adrian is more technical. They all have their own unique style though. I personally prefer Dave's style over anyone else. I love his legato playing, it's very smooth and expressive. I play in a Maiden tribute band and play Daves parts. He is my favorite guitarist and biggest influence. They are all good in their own right.

Dave, jannick, and Adrian's timing waivers because they always do their best to lock into Nicko's playing. Nicko's tempo is all over the place. Love Nicko's drumming either way.

Too many opinions about the delay what is clean and what is dirty sound? That's the sound that the people like about Iron Maiden all over the years .don't get me wrong but my ears are pretty healthy but the delay and the distortion sound and all of those stuff when i listen Iron Maiden' songs and sometimes the are three guitarrist soloing in a song I can say this is Janick or Dave or Adrian because of the sound and let's be honnest Mr.Smith is melodic as hell Dave technique as the beast and Janick Fast as well . Probably they do not sound exactly as we want but i don't think that a reason for a criticism. Iron Maiden Is Iron Maiden and that is the sound that has characterized them all over the years.

In my 20 years of playing I have come to realize sloppy means playing with passion. It is what makes each player unique and stand out. Think Hendrix, or better yet Jimmy Page Mr. Sloppy himself. Every guitarist that aim for perfection and perfect technique just sounds robotic and boring to me. Think drum machines vs a real drummer. Music is supposed to flow.

rjacamargo yep. My ex boyfriend works in musical production, so does a friend of mine, and, since I study singing and piano, I asked to my friend maaany times to isolate an instrument or a voice from a song for me, and he has all his stuff in his studio and he did it, in few minutes. An example that I remember? Bohemian Rhapsody, he separated every voice and the piano parts for me. Got it?

@rjacamargo
@rjacamargo 7 жыл бұрын
I am a sound engineer, that's my job for the last 10 years. I am telling you there is no program, free or not, that will isolate any instrument or vocal from any song. Unless you recorded them or you have all the separate channels, it cannot be done. Bohemian Rhapsody has been going around for a long time, along with other famous songs. Somehow the tracks leaked or they were made public for research or something, I don't know. I repeat, there is NO WAY to take a guitar from a song and isolate it, THERE IS NO PROGRAM IN THE WORLD THAT CAN DO THAT. The ONLY WAY is to have all the separate tracks. You can try to make it louder, more visible, and sometimes you might be able to make it, but that's it. You have different instruments, and vocals, using the same frequencies and coming out of 1 channel, or 2 ( stereo), and that's it.

This does sound well dodgy but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s authentic. They play so many gigs it is inevitable that some will be pants. Having said that, wasn’t this an official live release? Thing is, when you are Mr Murray you have sort of earned the right to get away with this since he and Adrian Smith actually wrote this stuff nearly 40 years ago!🤘I could listen to Smith/Murray for eternity and not get bored.

After listening to him on both their live and studio albums and a couple shows since about 89(LOL wish I could say earlier but I was born in 78) it always seemed he put his best effort forward in the studio. I guess when you have 4 guitarists you can get away with sloppy playing because they will all blend together and form a sort of natural chorus effect. I've gone to some of maiden's concerts and I always thought they had a very oversaturated sound, it's even hard to make out the note's in the solos because those guys push so much delay/reverb/wetness. Bruce's vocals definitely cut through the mix and carry the songs though.
