James Hetfield is a better frontman and vocalist; Dave Mustaine is a better guitarist, no question. The real debate is who is a better songwriter and that is pretty subjective... well I guess it all is, but I feel pretty confident that most people would agree with the above assessment.

Dave has a technical left hand while James has a brutal right hand. Both are great. They both gave us amazing music. But it is James all day for me. Brutal right hand.
