Hi everybody, it's Bill Scheft. Normally, I refrain from weighing, but I have two giggle-worthy inside memories of this runner, which I had nothing to do with, but love deeply. Memory #1: When Dave and Paul yell "Donny Osmonds!" instead of "Donny Osmond!" they are recreating a typo that had been in the cue cards during rehearsal. Even though the card was corrected, they still yelled "Donny Osmonds!" because it had gotten such a big laugh from everyone during rehearsal, including Donny. Memory #2: My sister Sally and her husband Jeff were visiting that day, and I had gotten them into music rehearsal. My sister Sally is THE NICEST PERSON IN THE WORLD. Never says anything bad about anyone. Because the Menendez pre-tapes ran long, music rehearsal started a little late, so Paul had no time to change out of his costume. He ran behind the B-3 still wearing the crew neck sweater and the horrible black wig. As soon as she saw him, my sister Sally nudged me and whispered, "Paul looks good. I like the new look...."

“Donny Osmond!” 😂 (The randomness of Donny Osmond turning up really gave me a good laugh!)

Paul had so much hair in the TV movie.

It seems pretty clear that the comedy here is not centered on the tragic situation itself but on the cheesy way in which television exploits these tragedies for entertainment purposes. But I'm curious to see how this comments section turns out considering that it's once again become a controversy after all these years.

True crime was the bread and butter of 90s late night comedy: Amy Fisher, Lorena Bobbit, OJ Simpson, the Melendez Brothers.

1994 was a terrible year of murder. I am thankful that at least 1 selfish woman did not get free. Never forget the Smith toddlers.

Dave and Paul knew how bad the Melendez brothers were in the 90s. They did a great job.
