@@TheBBQify not really bro, learning to be subtle is the crossing point going from beginner to advanced, all u gon do by puttin hella plugins on a channel is make it less natural and "ruin" it, when you are subtle and smart with your moves youll sum up to something great in the end.

Recently, my mix bus has been focused on transparent, clean volume along with the typical “glue” and eq stuff…my FAVORITE chain at the moment is: Pro-c2, low ratio using the “mastering” algorithm and as much oversampling as I can afford (this occasionally gets swapped with CLA mixdown) for the initial, gentle “this all belongs together” vibe. Pro-q3 on linear phase Slate VTM (at this point I start adding a few db to the output) Pro-l2 using whatever algorithm feels appropriate…oversampled to whatever extent I can afford Slate VMC for the final leveling Those plugins are all so high quality and so sonically faithful, I’ve found that stacking them as such gives me my best bass/treble retention with the absolute bare minimum in processing artifacts. Clean volume is really important to me. If you’re hovering around -9 RMS but it sounds totally pummeled, you’ve wasted all your time and energy.

The manual for standard clip says if you have the ceiling after to not use a limiter after but I see you do here. Can anyone elaborate more on standard clip and how it work?
@briancase61803 жыл бұрын
The thought is that the ceiling will catch any ISPs, so a limiter would either do nothing or limit a whole lot of already clipped peaks (further washing them out). In fact, many mixing/mastering engineers will use only a clipper depending on the program material. But, it really depends on your material and how much clipping the clipper has done. As Dave said so correctly: it's a bit of art, I think.

My guess is its hearing loss. You often think of first losing the ability to hear top frequencies but really its just whichever ones your ears fatigue from the most. So my guess is your ears are either hyper fatigued from 2.5K to 5K or you possibly your experiencing hearing loss in or around those frequencies. I guess the only other thing I could think of is a problem with your monitors?

If streaming services are restricting their level to -14 these days, WHY deliver louder than that? That's the part I suppose I don't get.

You wont be able to get maximum volume after someone downloads the track from there. They are just reducing the overall volume during streaming only.
