We have the best cafes here in Australia but I refused to pay $9.00 for a coffee x 3-5 a day plus lunch. Yes I was more than able to afford it but dropping $150 a day on food & coffee was a joke. I made my own coffee but had the lunch $$$$ for free.When I worked & went to university at night a decade before I had to eat a decent meal for dinner I found the Sports Clubs & Ex Services Club had the cheapest meals that were nutritional & knew I ate one decent meal a day at least.

I will add buying expensive gas. I met people who fill their car tanks with high octane gas when it's not necessary, and to make matters worst they buy only brand names which are always the most expensive ones.

I bought a new 2023 and traded my old vehicle in and put money down and my payment is under $380.00. I agree buying used car is great but if you do your homework and shop around, you can get a good deal. I didn't use the loan through the dealership. Everytime I'm at a country with currency that isn't Euro, GBP or USD I use whatever small change left to buy snacks (either to eat or bring home). Coin to coin, it does sum up to an amount (regarding brewing your own coffee).

I try to cook almost everything on eat and on average i spend $1.50 per meal including as much meat as i want. Get creative, there are tons of great cooking channels on yt like adam ragusea, ethan chlebowsku, kenji lopez alt, chef john. Another source of good ideas is look up food that ppl cooked during the great depression. Hope this helps

One of my go to staple foods is teriyaki chicken. Chicken thighs are $1-2 a pound + plus the cost of rice, soy sauce, mirin, sake. Very cheap and very yummy. I also like adding roastedbroccoli or brussel sprouts too

@@bettermentboss i worked 2/3 of my life at a family owned convenience store. Parents still own it. I've seen how much people throw down on PowerBall and scratch its. Even those on welfare and food stamps. People waiting nearby for their mail to arrive to get their welfare check to cash and buy scratch it lottery tickets. Still good people, but still people that needed to wise up. Then there is the lost revenue on the retail side. The store barely makes pennies on the dollar. Not worth the money to pay an extra person due to the increase traffic from a record jackpot. Dave Ramsey said it best. Lottery is a tax on poor people and people who can't do math.

These all make sense, except the wrong education caveat. There is no such thing as a wrong education. With a college degree, a person will make more money throughout their lifetime, regardless of the major. I for one probably have what society considers "useless." However, my income doubled with the first out of college job I obtained....and I graduated at 42 years old!

There is definitely a wrong education. A degree in teaching simply won't produce the kind of income that learning a trade will. Good luck getting an engineer's job or working as a doctor with a degree in teaching. I know so many people with degrees that aren't being used, where they are working side by side with people without degrees making the same money. Many times when people are trying to decide on a degree, they look to the market place to see what degrees are in demand by prospective employers. Universities put out propaganda about college degrees to sell their product of college degrees. You can take the top earners, such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc to offset the bottom earners such as teachers, managers, journalists, etc to get an average that is higher than the average of people without degrees because in that average, many people are simply unskilled. However, if you remove unskilled labor from the average, skilled labor on average makes more than people with degrees without the burden of student loans.
