I didn't grow up with a dad. Rachel for sure is lucky to have Dave as her dad.

When I saw Dave in your video blog, it made my heart so happy!!! I forget that he is your dad since you are amazing in your own right. I love the stories!! Wish I had my dad in my life to have this but I've been blessed with an amazing husband who fathers our daughter so well. He read Strong Fathers and Strong Daughters.

I remember growing up and Dad had the "authoritative" voice and Mom had the "look" when it came to discipline.

Every birthday card, Christmas card, Etc, I would tell my daughter she's special and I'm proud of her. One phrase I love to use is, "you are as brilliant as you are beautiful". She's 30 now and I hope it had a good pay off. I still tell her those things...

Dads are super important! I remember my dad always being the one who would play or have a silly time with me and my sisters. Always reminding us that Jesus was the most important thing and to pray. He'd also tell us that mom was the most important person when raising children. He didn't realize how important he actually was. I now get to tell him how important he was and is. Thanks for this video.

I am the punisher in our home but that dad voice is so real. I always tell my husband to "get your dad voice out" because it works.

I just wanted to let you know what a blessing you both have been to our Family. I forwarded this video to my hubby by the way... your Father daughter relationship reminds me of my relationship with my Daddy who went to be with the Lord in 2007. But I always remember our interactions, conversations, laughter and I love Jesus because he showed me how. I pray that my Daughter and Son will always have this type of love for their Dad. thanks again for making this video.

I would caution people from putting your Christian cultural expectations of what a child should do when they are an adult instead of what God wants the child to do. Praying for your kids future spouse is putting your wants/desires from the culture on the child. God might give the gift of singleness to your child for a time (or for their whole life), and that's ok and not a curse that the culture and many Christians think it is. Being a single Christian is not a second class citizen. This is something I've had to wrestle with, in terms of my wants and desires for my children. Are they what I desire/want or what God's desire is.
@HannahNaegele7 жыл бұрын
You can pray for their spouse conditionally. So for instance pray, "Lord, please bless my child's future spouse if they have one." God's will is going to happen no matter what, you're just praying that IF it's marriage for your child, that it's a good one.
