Dave and Gillian drove across Australia to perform on the east coast. I happened to read a music review featuring them, hereto ignorant of DRM. I was blown away by their show in Bangalow. My fondest hope is that they return to our shores again one day. Sigh.

I have this performance saved and have rewatched it so many times. Their music is so unbelievably beautiful haunting and really takes you on a journey to another place. It’s just visceral. No matter how many times I watch it it still affects me just as much. You feel this music in your bones.

Dave is the coolest dude ever. He always seems to be happy as a clam and having the time of his life every performance I've ever seen. It's obvious he is a serious musician who doesn't take himself too seriously at all.

daniel morris saw him loose his deep cool @ hardly strictly bluegrass festival a decade back, when the soundman couldn't cope with the wind chill. Buuuut...seen him a dozen times maybe and chatted with him once till Gillian dragged him off. 😂 He is an amazing dude tho - he runs with Emmy Lou and Jack White, Chris thile and of course frckn John Paul Jones toured with them just before this phase.

Dave is sitting on a couch with the guitar being interviewed and he tells the story. I went to the music store he is referring to is Allston Ma. last year and asked them if they knew the story - no one remembered it even though it's been the same staff for 40 years. When I walked in I saw an old Bandmasater Reverb head and smiled to myself. You'll understand if you watch the interview.

I went and saw their concert in Sydney at the Enmore theatre the other night. Blown Away does not fully describe how I felt after the concert. I have loved these guys for years but to see them in concert live is another experience altogether. These guys are not only good but you can see they love what they do and they interacted with the audience all night. I would have paid double to experience what I saw...........BRILLIANT.

Just found out they are on their way down here to Australia next year! First time in eleven years or so. Plus, they're doing a double-headed tour: Gillian Welch for the first lap, then Dave Rawlings Machine back down the east coast. This session is beautiful. I've listened to them for years but have never seen them live before. The harmonies, sound, instrumentation...just stunning.

saw the five of them early november at lincoln theater in washington dc....terrific...very lively hall, so gil said, 'we dont usually do this but this hall sounds so good' and they sang 5 encores....the highlight was a chilling version of china doll....'made a friend or two along the way...what can i say.....whoa, ah, oh, wah, oh'

Got my first taste of Nashville Obsolete about 18hrs ago while driving to work. The local radio station played Pilgrim (You Can't Go Home) - an excellent track! It's pity that they don't perform this track on this video.
