Dave, Nice job on explaining how you do the MTL trucks/couplers. Since I don't use the magnetic uncouplers, most of the time I trim the pins on mine....John

I use my magnifying visor , and some are also screws for pins like Athearn , I have used the Atlas couplers and trucks and the Micro trains coupler and truck combinations . your trip pins are sometimes so low I have either bent them upwards , or removed them . I have changed out many couplers in my collection . yes for a 10 pack of coupler with trucks in CAN is now $85.00 ouch you get 10 enough to do 5 cars , I have went through hundreds over the years , all my cars are changed over , now I have been changing the wheels to metal from plastic at $1. CAN per axle . Thanks Dave again .

Hi Dave good video on Couplers . I've been changing over to MT 1030 couplers little by little . As for new cars I try my best to buy Micro Trains cars , I love the fact their a USA Made product and support them . I don't find they cost much more if at all then the other manufactures out there . Thanks for sharing and take care .

Much easier to change the bogie with the MTH couplings, than just swap the coupling alone ( eyes can't see the springs etc). Not keen on Kato or McHenry or other types as they struggle to couple to micro trains or each other sometimes.

Hey Dave. Im an HO scale modeler. In my experience all of oir couplers are body mounted. In N scale are all the couplers truck mounted?
