I was living and working in Oman when the Saudi military started attacking Yemen in 2014. The Omani government authorised an evacuation of wounded civilians in Sana'a, many of whom were brought to the national hospital on the campus where I worked (Sultan Qaboos University Hospital). I was teaching a course to Omani hospital employees in spring of 2015, and I will never forget one of the female employees coming into my class late and crying hysterically. She had seen an 8-year-old Yemeni boy at our hospital with half of his face blown off... by weapons supplied by the US to Saudi Arabia. She was so upset and overwhelmed, she could not even express herself in English. One of her classmates, a male employee, translated to me from Arabic to explain what she was crying about. I remember excusing myself from the class and walking to the ladies bathroom, locking myself in the stall, and crying for maybe 10 minutes. One of the other female Omanis came in to check on me. I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I was considering never returning to the US. Eight years later, the war is still going on in Yemen, and I have left the States. Permanently, inshallah...

Not really, the petro dollar is a ridiculous claim, oil sales make up less than 2% of transactions done in US dollars. Oil being sold in dollars doesn't prop up the dollar. It was useful when the US initially left the Gold standard but its long since become insignificant. Countries trade in US dollars because the US is the largest economy in the world and a net importer, meaning theres plenty of US dollars flowing internationally to use as the global reserve currency. Dave isn’t entirely correct. The Houthis rebelled against the Saudi friendly government in Yemen years ago. The Houthis are Iran friendly because they are both Shia. To be honest I don't think half the podcasts that Joe has done since moving to Spotify would even be allowed on KZbin. Unfortunately looking at the recent deletions with Joe's approval both Joe and Spotify are buckling to the Liberal pressure that's pressing on them. Sure they didn't give into the Vaccination 'Misinformation' pressure but they did give in and that's a slippery slope. You give these vultures an inch they'll take everything from you. Apologising and deleting those episodes goes against what Joe says about how Wrong Speech should be combated by better speech. I don't think what Joe said in that compilation was ever meant to offend anybody because having listened to over a thousand hours of his podcast I know he's not a racist person however what he said is considered wrong to most people. So if he also believes that what he said was wrong then according to his own edict he should leave those episodes on the air to show that he has made mistakes but is willing to work on those mistakes and be better in the future. We should be a society where we are allowed to make mistakes and then work to combat those mistakes with better behaviour. Unfortunately our world now does not allow people to make mistakes because most of the time your first mistake is your last. Joe fought against that mentality but now maybe because of Spotify he is giving in. You never give in. Spotify needs to be careful because if they're going to go the way of KZbin then this will all be pointless and one of the last avenues of free speech powered conversations will also be regulated and then we are basically all fucked.

I totally agree with everything that this mam said, 40% of the US taxes goes to military purposes, while US country has many health issues, people with out homes, health care, public transport is bery bad.....there is enough money that can be speaned on all thos factors insted of military....

I mean, the other guy get's a lot of things wrong. The Houthis are not some righteous army of anti-imperialist freedom fighters. They're terrorists who kill and rape civilians just like all the other "groups" in the Middle East. And the U.S. can't just stop wars whenever they feel like it. If they cut support for the Saudis and made them recognize the Houthi government, that would only alienate us further from one of our most important allies in the region. It's better to let the Saudis bomb who they want than risk pushing them to one of our enemies.
