dave smith always has a smile on his face and seems always willing to talk. never seems like he's boasting or anything. kinda my hero. good questions too, not your run of the mill stuff.

I think he doesn't have to prove himself any more, his legacy speaks for itself - regardless if you use his synths, MIDI wouldn't even be a thing without Dave.

Nice interview! I like that you focus on the stories and backgrounds - the specs of the synth have been covered on many other channels already.

It's weird how the LEDs look purple on your videocamera and they look pink if I do a video on my DSLR - but they're actually neon red. I hadn't heard the actual sound demo before. The P6 is a mean machine and looks closer to black than it does on most vids/photos and I think like Dave says, it has got the soul of the Prophet-5.

You just talked to the inventor of MIDI, do you have that realization as you are standing there with him? Looking at all the videos of products there I just realize how great my Jupiter 6 is, with more features than most, even the new boards.

Wavestrike Electronics Ha ha.. Yeah he's a legend. But in a situation like that, it's important to look at the person in front of you, and treat him with real curiosity, with humour, with true warmth and.. and... you know.. treat him like a real person, and not an icon. I found him to be a warm, humorous, sharp, and a really great person. I really like him. He's like a great role model. I'm happy to have had a chat with him, and his crew.

Good interview. Kinda breathtaking how short the history of synths is, yet how distant the good old days are, and still we've almost come full circle. After this NAMM'15 I no longer crave for vintage synths. FU EBAY! (still need to see how these new synths are though ...)

Any change you recorded a direct line in and demo the Prophet 06? Like you did on the P12 demo?

Marcusmiller Sorry.. I was planning to, but I somehow forgot.
