Great video and wonderful insight into the rich history of the Gibson mandolin -- David is a major player in that 125 -year old story now -- he is part of the history of the lore of Loar.

Awesome! Dave should've picked a tune on that mandolin, he's a great player! 💯

I believe he would definitely chew your ear if you wanted to talk mandolin! Sounds like a very smart, passionate guy!

Dave has given Gibson mandolins some of their best years ever. I simply don't understand paying over $20,000 for a mandolin that's covered in scratches.

They try to talk about wonderful sounding musical instruments in this disturbing noisy environment…

I remember my father in law’s banjo neck finish came off almost immediately after purchase. Gibson and Charlie Deerington were awful. They would not make it right. $5k banjo and they wouldn’t fix it. I got on every chat and went to every festival I could to bad mouth Deerington and Gibson. After years of complaining they finally made it right. Gibson has always went cheap and fast.

What a horrible noisy environment to have to work in.

You cannot put soul into an instrument by “faking” previously earned wear patterns…The soul of an instrument is in the playing only. I believe Bill Monroe would not approve…🤔

Nice mandolins with a rich history but all this means nothing to the common man or women, because they are priced so far out of their range it's like a slap in the face watching a story about something that most people will never be able to afford , must be lots of rich Gibson mandolin players...I know it takes lots of skill and time to build one but others make mandolins that sound just as good or better for way less money, 20, 000 is waaay to much money even the f9 their cheapest model is out of most people's reach..

I love Gibson but I think the relicing looks fake no matter who the maker is.
