@@gerrydooley951 The more I watch clips here and on Another Channel Which Shall Not Be Named (hey, DG) the more I realize why I was such a fan of the old show and how I semi-lost interest around, say, 1997. or so. Turning 30 might have been a factor, too, NGL. But you didn't see many pieces like this any more. Notable exception was the "driving around and calling in to 1010-WINS with traffic reports" ... is that anything?

@@plaws0 In those days Dave meant a lot to me , he was certainly my comedy hero. The whole vibe of the CBS show was so different from the NBC show, I felt like Dave sold out but I understand why he did it in order to compete with Jay. I think I lost interest around the same time, maybe after the Oscars around 1998. I actually thought Dave was very funny on the Oscars but the CBS show lost the edge. Dave was too well known to do remotes anymore and was always using comedy surragettes who just weren't funny. Oh well, I do love watching the old clips
