I won't pretend to know much about Shane Waldron except the fact that he's an experienced offensive coordinator who believes in balancing the run with the pass. I've taken the time to summarize the run/pass balance that each of the FINAL FOUR TEAMS features as they compete for this year's title as the NFL Super Bowl Champion. Here's what I found: LIONS: 4606 yds Passing & 30 TDs / 2311 yds Rushing & 27 TDs NINERS: 4577 yds Passing & 33 TDs / 2389 yds Rushing & 27 TDs RAVENS: 3881 yds Passing & 27 TDs / 2661 yds Rushing & 26 TDs CHIEFS: 4383 yds Passing & 28 TDs / 2661 yds Rushing & 9 TDs. Overall, these teams seem very similar as far as featuring balanced attacks. However, what sticks out to me are the CHIEFS and their combined offensive TDS: Only 37!! Whereas the LIONS have 57; the NINERS have 60 & the Ravens have 53. On "paper" in the AFC, it looks like the Ravens will be a heavy favorite with a balanced offense to go with their stout defense. And in the NFC, it looks like the match-Up will be a toss-up. What do you all think? And what do the Bears & GM Poles need to do (under the coaching of OC Waldron) to create a championship level balance in their offense while continuing to upgrade their improving defense?

GM Poles will be trading down from #1 in exchange for a boatload of picks. Somewhere between the 3rd & 5th Round, the Bears will draft a QB & will also sign a veteran backup QB in free agency. Fields will remain the Bears QB1. The two new QBs will compete with Bagent for the QB2 position. Bagent may not make the final cut.

Not having the quarterback run often is a GOOD thing. Running to make it easier to pass, or having to scramble is nice, but to win consistently in the NFL you win from the pocket and hand the ball to guys who are paid to run the football and take hits.
@kenyattaclay7666
@kenyattaclay7666 7 ай бұрын
That’s not true & hasn’t been true for a while. Of the four QBs remaining Brock Purdey is the closest to that but even then they have him do a lot of rollouts. Also, Mahomes has played the AFC championship game every year he’s been a starter, played in 3 Super Bowls winning two and he’s rarely ever just standing there throwing from the pocket.

This past year, Fields had fewer scrambles & designed runs than in any of the previous years. As the offensive line improves, his need to scramble and/or run will continue to diminish. But periodically, a much needed "dagger of a run" keeps the opposing defense honest.

@@davidskinner5265 I agree. His original scouting report said he had a tendency to hold the ball to long and not get rid of the ball quickly, something he needed to work on. Bears are clueless as usual. They are headed into a historic draft opportunity with either: A. Build around the top QB prospect in years, or B. Get a massive haul for No. 1 and build around Fields. + Draft another franchise player at 9. Yet they approach 2024 with lame ducks at GM & HC - who likely will get let go by the end of next season. Now they hire an OC whose offense does not complement either Caleb or Justin’s skill sets. Bears fans deserve better.

This is SO Bears. Pass on Harbaugh, retain a coach that is 0-4 against the Packers with a 10-24 (.294) overall record, pass on Kingsbury, get some no-name dude from the Seahawks instead. Now, all we need is for them to trade away (again) the number one pick and stick with a QB that couldn't read a defense if it was a reader 1 on audio book. The Chicago Bears are owned by cheapskates who couldn't give a rats ass about winning, and our fans just eat it up, year in and year out like good little pawns. I'm sure next year they'll sell the place out, and we'll go 7-10 again and 0-2 against the Packers. Then, Fields will get an extension, Flus will get an extension, and the message will be, "we're rebuilding"... rinse and repeat.
