To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

My ears don't have the necessary fidelity to recognize the difference. Even if they do, they may not feel that it's 3x (or whatever) better than the original. I don't like buying fakes, though. If I can't afford the real thing, I won't pretend that I can. I'd rather buy cheap headphones with their own design/branding since what I'm looking for is the functionality (eg., Bluetooth connection) not the branding/styling. As for sound quality, my ears are not that good anyway, and they have good understanding of my financial situation, heheh. My main problem with cheaper products is their longevity or durability. Financially, replacing them often doesn't really hurt since they're so much cheaper. But I know that this hurts the environment since I'll be contributing to the piles of electronics waste.

Dave is right; the word he’s looking up is “counterfeit”. I’ve got a couple of fake phones from eBay and the whole point is that the end users will doubt if they have been actually scammed or not; just enough to let it pass. They get the product with the right packaging and the right user interface, and the whole idea of returning the product becomes too much of a hassle to process. In the end most people keep the fake and simply complain about Apple, not about the seller.

@mirvanibrahim243 жыл бұрын
@@crimsonamethyst7571 Without going into too much detail I won't be mentioning some company names. We have an electronics company which produces most of its products in China. We eventually found out that the same company/industrial factory that produces our products is making a small amount of knock offs and selling it to other buyers for cheaper prices. What they don't realize is , in electronics, products are assigned specific wattage for specific reasons , and when the requirements aren't met , these products eventually become faulty when they shouldn't. In the case of enormous companies like Apple , Samsung and etc , the factories producing them make small amount of knock offs . Think about it , when you want to a factory to make a product for you , you send the entire blueprint of the item , from size , print, color , wattage , type of plastic/metal and etc. The factory has all the details of your product , literally all. It is not the making of the fake product that is difficult but in the selling of these products and not getting caught. Because no factory wants to loose a consistent customer , especially the likes of Apple for the sole fact of making a side profit in faking their products. But small inconsistent and new companies that want to manufacture their products have it tough because their products are being copied and sold and there is nothing they can do about it. We have luckily established ourselves and have gotten to the point where it is unfavorable for the factory to produces fake products of ours but it still happens every now and then. There is A LOT to this "faking" of products and many details go into consideration , sometimes it's purely for profit and sometimes its purely for malicious intent. There are even people out there that would buy literally every single product you have , hire an engineer to copy every single thing from your products and mass produce it but slap a different name on it and sell it to YOUR buyers for a very competitive price for the sole fact to scare you away from certain locations , customers , business and etc. Biggest advice I can give is , find a trust worthy factory and work only with them and build their trust , patent the shit out of your products and have a witty lawyer.

i really don’t understand the people who make knockoffs. especially the second one which even has identical packaging. why spend so much time and effort trying to duplicate something? so much effort that is put into trying to have it as identical as the real deal? why not spend those time and effort trying to make your own original idea? at the end of the day, the cheap low-quality knockoff will always be a cheap low-quality knockoff, whereas if it is an original product you came up with, there’s room for improvement and one day you might find yourself success as a big player in the industry you step foot in one day (remember Apple started off in a garage and so did Microsoft) plus the morals of copying someone else’s idea and passing it off, and also potentially scamming an unknowing person into thinking he has the real product! not only is it illegal it is also highly immoral. anyways on a lighter note, great vid Dave!

I have always been very careful with my online purchases. The fake pair I purchased even had a valid serial number label on it. When I looked the serial number on apples warranty checker it came up and showed it had warranty until July of 2024. By the time I realized these were fake which was a few hours after purchase because I had to charge them, the Facebook user was no longer available. This was an expensive life lesson for me. Thanks for sharing your video. Hopefully it can help others prior to making the mistake.

I just got ripped off from FB marketplace too for some Airpod Pros 2 for $80. The fakes are crazy convincing. The build quality, appearance, packaging, etc are almost completely identical to the real thing. It even had all the exact software prompts & settings. And just like yours, it had a real serial number & warranty. The only way I could tell they were fake was the sound quality was horrible and crazy distortion on bass. Noise cancellation didn’t work either. What made it worse was that some snotty nosed geeky white kid who couldn’t have been older than 20 was the one who scammed me. I’m glad I’m only out $80 for them but it sucks that I spent that much and still don’t have any headphones I can really use. This reminds me of the iPad cases I bought from Taobao - while they were claimed as the real one and looked absolutely like the real one, the wear and tear always came just a few months of usage, while ones that were bought from Apple lasted years without much damage. Hey Dave, love the video but I'd like to humbly suggest an improvement. In the headphone sound comparison section, I think it would be better to swap between headphones mid-song to get a better idea of each sounds instead of letting the viewer forget their sound signature in the dialogue in between. The first iPhone was a game-changer. It really changed everything in the field of telecommunications and media. It cost 400$. These earphones are not a gamechanger whatsoever. They cost 550$. But hey, as long as there are enough dummies to buy them, why wouldn't Apple take advantage?

The thing is in the world of headphones, that's not a crazy price at all. That's low-midrange for actually good headphones. But then again, these don't sound like they're worth $500. Apple tax adds all of that
@heroninja11252 жыл бұрын
@@JamieVatarga in the world of headphones I can get a $70 wired pair with quality equivilant to $500 bluetooth wireless earphones, also the argument of cable damage makes no sense when there are wired headphones that allow you to simply unplug the cable from the headphone and put another one in, sometimes you even get spare cables with the headphones. Bluetooth may be getting good but I don't think its worth $500 unless you are REALLY into your music and like to run marathons with your headphones on, or if you are getting paid for doing it, but to each their own, for some people $500 on a pair of bluetooth earphones or earbuds is worth it and I think its fine if you are getting enjoyment out of them.
@JamieVatarga2 жыл бұрын
@@heroninja1125 I was more referring to the price alone. The APM are tuned very well compared to most Bluetooth headphones, but in terms of sound I do think something like the AKG K361 for $100 is better. You want real? Go at official stores and you want get scammed. Simple. Altough if you are paying 550euros for a pair of shitty apple headphones, you are getting scammed either way. Lol
@vasilije943 жыл бұрын
@JohnDoesTech because there are 200 euros headphones that have better sound quality. I am not saying that product itself has flaws or such. The product is well designed and works fine. But at 550 euros its severely overpriced and because of that its a bad product for the consumer. Now if you got money to throw then no one cares, you go ahead and do that. But if you are actually looking for great headphones that also have better sound quality, then there are better choices in that price range and some for even less money.

Back when I was still vaping, I was, and remain, 100% convinced that the clones came from the same manufacturing facilities as the genuine/branded items. For the companies who make them, they've got dual income channels: the premium brand, and the clone market. One thing's for sure: The clones may or my not be worth $150, but the Apple products absolutely are NOT worth $549.

To be fair, when you buy Airpods, you aren't buying them solely for the sound quality, but how it works with the ecosystem, the better building materials and some of the other tech in there that makes it sync so well. the sony's sound good but the maxes are better, with cleaner more accurate bass and better separation to the point where the sony's sound muddy in comparison. you're also getting a more premium build, better ANC, better transparency, and lower latency bluetooth + integration with apple's ecosystem. they are well worth the price tag considering they aren't even competing with the XM4's, but with luxury headphones that cost upwards of 800$ like the B&o H95's. like with most apple products, you're not paying a premium for good enough, you're paying a premium for the best.
