I reached this video once again due to your post 4 days ago. Interesting mappings, i have made similar ones. Some of them: *Samples Button* (as Modifier) => Changing State for FX, used in toggle function, no need for *Shift + Samples* to go back to normal (on/off light & function) *Samples Rotary* => General Wet/Dry for EVERY deck (in addition to the individual *Mixer FX Rotaries* you also map here) *Shift + Mixer FX Rotaries* => Key Change (i don't know if it makes more sense to use them as Wet/Dry) *Left Shift + Cue A/B* => Arm (Assign) FX Unit 1/2 to Deck A *Right Shift + Cue A/B* => Arm (Assign) FX Unit 1/2 to Deck B *Left Hotcues* => Quick Aceess to FX Unit 1 ON/OFF *Right Hotcues* => Quick Access to FX Unit 2 ON/OFF I have also made the touch sensitive encoders "State Modifiers" while you just touch them (NOT pressing) down and i am using them as "extra shift buttons" and experimenting with various functions. PS. Sorry if i am using terms and english incoreectly, not my native language.

It does help but you’ll need to map the S3. You can just copy the mappings from the s2 and use that as a guide. Thanks for watching

Hey Dave, what I think would be a really in demand video and feature set for all Traktor s2 MK3 owners would be 1. being able to scratch samples with the jog wheels when holding the sample to trigger. 2. Having a beat slicer function for all the pads only when holding the hotcue button. 3. When samples button is selected Having pads 5-8 turn into activating chained effects that mimic pioneer built in effects , when pad is held and using the loop knob as the dry wet. I have created a custom mapping with some of these features it’s on djtechtools and there’s a KZbin video I’ve done, I was hopping you could build on my mapping add some pioneer effects and I think this would be the pen ultimate mapping for the device ! Thanks for all your videos they are great 👍🏻

I just use the pushknop for loopsetting in/out and length. Not sure why you would do this otherwise, it's so much more convenient. As for the FX, I use my trusted Kontrol X1 MK1. It's a perfect companion for the S2 MK3.

Hey, I know I'm mate to the party but I've just got back into DJing after a break if nearly 10 years. The last setup I had was an M-audio Torq(remember that?) Dvs system. I love the new track FX (don't love that they're not post crossfader) but I want to use the full FX system. Was this mapping ever released? Would love to use it!

DAVE correct me if I am wrong but to solve this "effects crisis" on the S2MK3, wouldn't the best fix be to simply add an X1 controller to access the advanced section of effects in the TP3? I currently use only 2 decks for mixing and the remix decks for firing off samples/loops. I am looking at pairing the S2MK3 with an F1 for control over the remix decks and the X1 seems like the best fix for control over the effects parameters.... Correct me if I am wrong but won't this give me full control over the TP3 software? Note: the S2MK3 will be run through an external mixer like the Yamaha MG06 for balanced outputs and mic purposes also if someone wants to hook up a guitar or keyboard for some live performing over one of my tracks.

100% Neal. Using the x1 and F1 are great to do this. Be warned about little deviations like not having a play button for decks c and d incase you want to stop a remix deck or play a normal deck etc. You also can’t arm the fx on deck c and d either unless you have bother x1 or make the x1 work on c and d. There are always some tweaks to be had.

I don't have a desire to layer effects on the remix decks at this point so, I think one X1 should suffice for me. Thanks for your patience and knowledgeable feedback.

Hey Dave!! I've heard that the sound quality and volumes on the S2 mk3 are really poor compared to the s4 mk3. What's your opinion on it?

Hey, yes the s4 has a superior sound card with XLR connections so it’s far better. But, I have gigged on every mixer traktor have made and I’ve never had an issue with sound. If you are going to gig at a festival then yeah you’ll notice a difference, but I was gigging on 4-5k rigs without problems. Hope that helps.

Love the mapping, was definitely what I'm looking for. Would love to be able to use it once you've refined it. Also do you think there is a way to map so that you can use decks C and D? The lack of access is making me think about upgrading

Hi David, if you take a look at my community post then I can send you it to try out. There is definitely a way to map C & D as well. Would take some time to map but will work for sure. I did the same for the Z1. Super handy.

Hi, had a go at doing it myself... Lol .. failed! Couldn't work out the samples and shift function properly ☹️. All i want to be able to do is use the fx. Will await your mapping. Great video's by the way👍

Hi Felipe, I have studied it and as far as I am aware you cannot map the stems, which is odd and a shame as you should be able to. If I find out more I'll keep you updated.
