Rh-A is what you call A positive blood for those confused. And yes, for the grandfather, any O blood type would have worked as far as I've studied. However if it was A negative blood(A blood, but with no Rh antigens), he or she could only get blood from someone with the same blood type or O negative blood. :) I hope grandpa is doing well now.
