Jefferson was actually an introvert. It’s one of the character clashes as Hamilton was very out going, blunt, and loud; and Jefferson was more reflective and deliberate. But Jefferson was treated like a rock star everywhere he went. His writings made him a star of the time. Daveed’s portrayal is more of what people thought of Jefferson was, rather than what Jefferson was.

The way they reread it and show disbelief, maybe I'm just digging too deep, but I think it's just their shame, since, even though Hamilton's downfall benefits them, they didn't have nothing against Eliza and sort of felt bad for her, now that she was going to find out about Maria Reynolds.

During the Reynolds Pamphlet everyone does in fact freestyle, the only time in the play. Anyone watching Ham slimes will note every performance is thus very different. You'll note this is the only time the King participates, but this is a built in feature of Broadway. As the character has no choreography and no interaction his character can easily be filled by guest stars on short notice. Obviously since the play is such a huge hit they haven't had the need to hire any but we'll see one day lol.
