Hi Dave, thanks for your constant output. I learned django a couple of years ago and made a couple of personal projects but it seems like the job market doesn't have many demand on this framework. I guess probably because of its slow speed and it is not SPA. I personally like the framework, especially for new learners in web dev. please do cover django rest framework too in the future. i know a little about the django rest but I would like to learn more about relation between models and serializers (especially how to serialize referenced foreigh key frield) and how to choose views vs viewsets. btw if you can cover MySql integration and some details about diff ways of authentication in this current series that would be great. sorry asking too much I guess..

So, I have a question: Why are some companies asking for SQL knowledge when most frameworks just abstract away the SQL with ORMs? From what I have learned sofar, Django/Flask are build around using SQL Alchemy to avoid dealing with SQL. Tried learning to work with SQL databases with React and same, everyone is using Sequelize. Isn't using an ORM basically the same as using a document based database?

Decent question. My background is raw SQL, but I have found Drizzle ORM to be ok. Best to know SQL so you can write it directly any time you need. Using an ORM is not the same as using a document database - although I can see how thoughts lean towards this.

I have some suggestions if you can add in feature: 1- make a video on how we can ovveride the admin dashboard because the default are ugly (This topic no one covered on youtube you can search to see no one talk about it) 2- a dashboard using react and link it to django it will be better. 3- the deployment of django react app or django Next.js

Consider creating class-based views before feature-based views 😁. Is it correct to create a Template folder with named apps folders in the root directory instead of creating a Template folder in each app?

You can do both. At this point in the series, there is the top "global" templates folder and then you can also create a templates folder inside of each app you create.
