Yeah, I know most of the trails shown on this channel are steep, but this video gives me the same uncomfortable feeling as he approaches a steep bit as I get on the trail. I guess that's a point in favor of hyperview.

I was watching specifically for differences, and i did feel that the steepness came through. The trees at the edge of my vision helped to convey the grade.

I also switched to 11. At the beggining HV felt little bit odd, but I quickly accustomed to it. It is definetaly more foolproof, I almost don't have to worry about correct cameras angle, because hyperview is so wide.

This setting is perfect, it takes some adjusting t9 get used to the skinner bike but if you look at the edges of the frame everything has a slight curve and that adds to the impressiveness.

I have a feeling that with hyperview it gives you a little bit more of a speed feeling as on the edges the footage is very fast! Love it so far

I honestly don't really care for the hyperview look, I find it's just a bit too warped! I think I will just stick with superview myself :)

I think hyperview is too much distortion and one setting less is perfect and enough. I’ve been experimenting with these modes also for my mtb videos and came to the conclusion of not using hyperview.

It looks great. I believe everyone understands that a wider FOV comes with some distortion, but the compromise is worth it. I get a much better sense of the environment you're in, not just the window in front of you.

Stabilization and encoded details look a lot better somehow. During the ride I don't see those distortions (Thanks for showing it, I was really curious how this asymetrical stretching will turn out!) - all in all I'd say it's a win!

yeah, I'd say that from watching your other videos I'd prefer having a wider view and partly distorted around the edges rather than a smaller view with no distortion. It makes the ride video more inclusive.

I do notice it, and it's a bit distracting as the scenery passes. My personal preference is for slightly less fov with less distortion. That having been said, I appreciate what you do and will enjoy either way.

The distortion is kinda messing with me , noticed something different in the last vid but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Now you've pointed it out I can't unsee it . Great video , just not a huge fan of the hyperview in all honesty

I'm not a professional photographer or downhill rider, but your video still look good in this format. I can only really tell when you're at the top of a jump, or looking down at a cliff, but I agree with another comment somebody wrote that it really attributes to the steepness of the Hill

I think the perfect solution would be in the middle, you get to see enough, but not as much distortion. I did notice it in the last video, it’s not too bad but it gets very distracting after a while

This is the best GoPro11 mtb video so far! Great job man, thanks! I think the hyperview in chest mount is too wide (I hate to see thin hands) but with the chin mount it makes a prefect view.

Hyper view looks ok for this purpose. It's when things pan across from left to right. But a POV with "fixed" things like a handbar and hands, it looks ok. Looks quite good.

It is definitely noticeable on the bars when you get low. I think the supervew or whatever it is called is already wide enough. Also dave, will you do any trials videos? (On a trial bike i mean)

I think the hyperview distortions actually Mimic the motion blur and distortions the rider sees while moving. It makes it feel more real than just watching a flat footage. Definitely keep it.

Definitely feels more real. This is what it actually looks like when riding. Although there is warping I feel like you can tell the steepness of the trail a bit better. May be a bit harder to watch for longer periods of time. Also, there is some sick riding in this👏.

Hyperview is too distorted for my taste but I can see why you'd wanna use it. The best GoPro angle setting I've ever seen (most realistic + getting everything into the frame) is superview in vertical mount. Not ideal for YT videos though.

Hyper view is great. Get a lot more context if the trail. Feels a lot better seeing more of the tree line and not just the ground. You’ve always done a great job with your angle but this is even better.

I think hyperview for POV is perfect! 4K 60fps doesn’t get Better than that! I tried to recreate the 8:7 full frame mode to make my own hyperview but it didn’t work as good. It sucks because you lose the dual vertical and horizontal aspect. I hope GoPro can release a plugin to create the hyperview from the full frame setting. Great videos man! look forward to more!

GoPro just released a tool for Premiere and AE that can create HyperView from 8:7 ! It's in the FX Reframe Plugin. Give it a go, it's epic!

Awesome video and sick riding! The hyperview does do a good job of showing Hope steep and gnarly the trails you ride are. Have you tried the new 8:7 aspect ratio?

Great Video and riding, if I had to criticize I would say the handlebar looks distorted, but that minor. Overall it's more immersive and you get a better feel for the steepness.

The distortion is a little annoying, but it does represent the steepness a little better. Knowing all the trails you rode in this video, everything still looks super flat, so that advantage is minimal.

In your last video the distortion was somehow more noticable, bordering on distracting. Here it´s good, though. I think only when you do quick pans with the camera it is really noticeable.

Hyperview is too much and I see very little point in upgrading from 10 to 11. Surely the intention is to make the most real life looking video as possible yet Gopro of late have been focused on making distorted, 360 type stuff. Perhaps it works best for instagram, shorts or TikTok stuff. Just by two cents. Love your videos though 👍

Is that in the highest hypersmooth setting? If so, it' crops the hyperview in quite well, but I think I still prefer superview with less stabilisation for chin mount

Have you considered getting a 170mm charger 3 zeb? Theyre dead silent and perform much much better than old lyrik or zeb. Its not quite as plush because the airspring is more supportive, but it would improve the quality of your videos and riding

Looked amazing! However, i also got eye surgery recently, and that also contributes haha. As long as Hyperview is used only for its intended purpose it looks great - otherwise it can be a bit nausea inducing i find. And my man, GoPro should be sending you these things in my opinion.

It looks like there is horizon leveling here. So is there a gimbal here or are you using reelsteady? If so, those things change how it looks pretty drastically from my experience. So I’d like to know what other things you are using if any, because it does look really great. But just want to make sure I’m seeing it apples to apples. If there is a Gimbal or reelsteady, that’s very different than just the Hyperview and stabilization from the cam alone. It would be cool if Horizon leveling were available in Hyperview but I don’t think it is, correct me if wrong.

I think the distortion at the edges helps to convey more of a sense of motion to the video, especially when you're moving fast. Great skinny ride at the end there! They wouldn't have made the tops of those flat if they didn't want you to ride it, right?!

Looks more like a 360 camera but it almost makes the steepness look like what it actually is...mind you I have never ridden these trails and at 55, I don't plan to. LOL! But I what I see is that there are a few almost straight down drops. Your front tire also looks tiny. While on the divider, I can see it 'bubble' out a bit. Great riding though.

I usually feel like superview works well for the type of content (like most of yours) where you're moving through a space in a mostly straight line. Once you start turning, panning or rotating I find it very disorienting. Looks like hyperview is the same but with more stretch, so about the same opinion. I didn't notice the distortion on the last vid though, so I'll have to go rewatch it and see. If there isn't much looking back over the shoulder or stuff like that it's not bad. Excellent riding as usual either way. Also, show off 😅 (4:45)

Superview is ideal for POV like you're filming IMO, I film allot of helmet cam POV and always liked it in the earlier versions but the quality hit wasn't worth it on the 9, I need at least 4K//60 and the 9 wouldn't do it. Nice riding BTW.

Just concidering buying a hero 11 to replace my hero 8. When I look at hero 8's horizontal superview FOV it says 122 degrees. When I look at hero 11 and 12 hyperview horizontal FOV, it also says 122 degrees? Is it actually any wider than the older cameras? Or is it just taller and squished? Strangely it seems that hero 11 and 12 superview is slightly narrower than l Previous models. Possibly to make hyperview look like a better upgrade than it really is?

I know you've switched to Insta360 on most of your newer videos, but I have to see, I much prefer the footage from the GoPro to the Insta360. The Insta frequently creates really bizarre distortion on the sides of the trail, making it seem like you're riding on a ridgeline all the time, even if you're not. Just a personal preference. I enjoy all your videos though.

I can see the steepness better but it does look wonky at times. The frame drops as well but I guess its because of my poor internet connection. Thinking about getting one myself. Very happy with the go pro 7 but it does make the trails look flat. Do you use a special Computer?

The distortion, I think, is too much. There is weird vertical line left and right, where you can clearly notice footage start to stretch. Try DJI osmo Action 3, nearly same, if not same FOV, but with much less distortion. Plus battery lasts lifetime.
