@@ottowilliamsbass sure they're funky, August Darnell is an amazing showman, writer, producer ...and bass player !! I believe he wrote all those spot-on infectious yet simple 'n' elegant grooving bass parts to the Coconuts songs, right ? Keziah is another sort of funky beast though, fantastic in his own right. Seen him live about 10 times or so, 3 or 4 of which with you on bass. To be honest I always preferred the early days, first 2 albums and Phil 'Soul' Sewell really awesome fluidly bouncy bass playing. But your own funky grooves are cool too, only think your bass tone live always was too trebly / clanky. Anyway, wish you well :o)

​@@paolozak3014Both artist’s are just that.. Artists. Each has their own story to tell. I’m brought in to facilitate that telling. Keziah (and other artist’s after him) have built on the musical foundation created by August Darnell. Look at the time line. Soul has his own voice and story. I was brought in and made ‘Musical Director’ by Keziah for a different musical direction. ‘Beautiful Emily’, ‘Kpafuka’, ‘Femiliarize’, etc. are all my voice and direction. The albums I worked on are not clanky at all. You will have to take that up with the live sound man! ;-)
