Tourists are super welcome in our city but long term foreigners should reconsider the negative effects that it brings to our beloved Porto; gentrification is a massive issue that affects most locals. Thanks for your attention.
@Give_Peace_a_Chance123Ай бұрын
@@TCGTalesWhat do you consider "gentrification"? As an ordinary 🤔 Irish person, a European, we came here as many Portuguese/Brazilians came to us and settled down without needing help. Many foreigners started in Ireland with little but were helped in every way possible. We didn't need help, my husband works from home and helps in churches. I in my garden and rescued animals. I find your terminology strange and somewhat offensive. We never put down foreigners, no matter where from, so why would you?😮 Its not at all usual for educated Portuguese, so I'm astonished upset about it.🤷

Dave! I remember stumbling upon Espaço 77 at an ungodly hour after flying into Porto from Australia. Practically a 24 hour journey. One of the best bits of luck in my life. You are definitely one of the best describing our country and this depiction of my city as made me proud. I really like the way you also give voice to the locals. Not many youtubers do that and the insight a local provides is much more interesting because they do know what it feels to live in the best city of the world. It is understandable that most places shown are more targeted to tourists and not so often visited by locals. We have our own secret spots for amazing food and enjoy our time. Not "hunting" for them actually helps us preserve our identity and culture. So thank you for that.

The fact that you didn't say tapas and know that all those snacks are called "petiscos" it's so reassuring of your channel credibility. You always respect the Portuguese culture and I comend you for that. I'm Portuguese and currently live in the US, I went to a "supposedly" high end Portuguese restaurant in Houston and the guy said he was serving me tapas and wine... Despite the obious love for Porto you have, I do hope you can visit and do some content on the Minho region and my hometown of Braga, I do recommend Guimarães and Ponte de Lima as well among many other sites. If you would like some recomendations just let me know. And a little tip, the Braga style francesinha does have a more spicy/sweet sauce than Porto's, and as such I do tend to like it more specially with egg and fries, please include it in your video. Francesinha analysis video would be a youtube gem for sure.
