I was an offshore lobstermen for 11 years, east of Massachusetts for 4 of those 11 yrs, there is an immense amount of desolate ocean out there, but amazingly theres alot of animals aswell I've had some crazy experiences out there, weather,animals,unexplained things, odd behavior of water...just amazing stuff, there is tons of things that could be going on under our noses.. This is no way scientific, just my experiences, I love the ocean and lakes as well. I'm certified to scuba dive and have been to a lot of different countries just to dive, I don't know what you call it, but there's just something. A yearning, a longing as I get closer to the ocean maybe it's got something to do with the water. The waves the tides and the fact that we are largely made up of water? When i was in the navy id work late some nights and go smoke at 2am and its crazy how dark it was outside in the middle of the ocean. But then when it was a full moon and the ocean was so calm it looked like glass. I will never forget those nights.

I have lived on a boat for three years. They thing that it scares me the most about the sea, the ocean is how polluted is. The reefs I used to enjoying while scuba diving in the Caribbean and other parts of the our planet have died. It is sad to see how much garbage I have picked up and I have not made any significant difference. We, the human race does not deserve the ocean.

I am terrified of water I can't see the bottom of. I am also terrified of murky water, it honestly makes me feel uncontrollable fear, I think it's because I don't know what's under the surface if the water is not clear. I also get horrible sea sickness. Basically me and open water don't have a good relationship! I've had that "call of the void" the first person was talking about, I get it every time I stand on the edge of something like a tall building or a cliff. I've read it's a normal reaction your brain gets when being afraid but it is honestly the weirdest feeling.

Wow!!! I feel the void calling me fairly often. I don't have to be near a large body of water. I don't even have to be right on it. It's happened when driving over a bridge or along a riverside road. I'm not in an altered state. I'm now under the influence of anything. I'm not contemplating or even really vigilant. The second guy was LITERALLY scared of his own shadow, lol too funny, he saw his shadow and assumed it was his friend and his mind filled in the blanks. I was once on the beach, My key, Danang A perfect Sunny afternoon with my Asian wife.. We were playing in the surf a little and in the shallows,here came a floating object it looked to be about 5 or 6' long.. It appeared to paddle with the waves hard to see being submerged submerged 90% of the time.. My wife didn't want to go near it and finally I got a stick and pulled it in closer and it was actually a very good life like replica of a seal or something that something that floated around made a fishing net and other debris ... so much for dead bodies.. And then there was the scooter rental but little Yamaha that's still screamed One day on a road tripand was showing 66 666.6 ..miles ... Did we crash and burn !??

25Bayor: I took a trip from London to limerick Ireland to visit friends one summer I spent in London. I know that feeling your talking about. It’s almost like a intrusive thought. We had to catch a ferry over the Irish Sea and this part of the journey was in the middle of the night, like 1:00-3:00 AM, or around there. I just know it was dark as fuck outside with a clear sky and the water appeared like black ink menacingly. I stood at the end of the ship against the railing and for some reason a terrified feeling of suddenly hurling myself over the rail seized my mind. It was a strangely horrible feeling and I quickly ran back inside. I ventured outside a few more times, and on the return trip to London felt the same way. I’ve never felt that feeling before. But the thought seized my mind like an intrusive thought does. I hadn’t thought about this in years. It happened in the summer of 1993 when I was 22, I’m 49 now!!

I grew up visiting my grandparents almost every weekend. When they were still alive, they owned these two beautiful ponds. Now, me and my brothers own the land. I dont know why, but I always had weird dreams about the smaller pond having different creatures in it that aren't supposed to be there. I live in Connecticut, so it's definitely odd I would dream there were alligators, crocodiles, and giant snakes in the pond. Sometimes, I would have dreams of unknown giant creatures swimming in the pond.There was one I had when every time I took a step on the land, snakes would shoot out into the water from underground. In another dream, the water pulled me to the middle of the pond. I looked up, and there was a huge dead bass floating at the surface. Really creeped me out as a kid. Another dream was the fish in the pond were so big they would try to eat you. In many of my dreams, I would fall in the pond and just sink like a rock. I don't know why I've had so many nightmares over the years of our pond. I always had fun swimming in that pond, and I still do to this day. Thankfully, these nightmares had never given me a reason to hate the water and stop swimming.
