This brand new safari camp MADE OUR TOP 3 after we visited over 60 different safari camps so trust us when we say that Surana Buffalo Springs is an overall top tier camp.

Our journey started at home in Nairobi where a fully open safari vehicle from Surana camp and picked us up to drive us to Buffalo Springs Conservancy in the Samburu region of Kenya. Going through Nairobi in an open safari truck is an experience of its own!
As soon as we arrived at Surana Buffalo Springs which is part of Ashnil Hotels, we were amazing by the unique look of the safari camp. It is very similar looking to your typical desert camp you would find in the middle of Namibia. It is simply stunning.
Our room which had it's own plunge pool and a stunning view of the Samburu River, was very spacious and cozy. The bed was comfortable, the bedroom had a good airflow and the shower had quick hot water and great pressure.
The main lodge itself had a luxurious feel, with different seating area to relax and have a drink and the food served there was truly fine dinning with more main course option we had ever seen before in any other safari camp.
Overall, we have nothing negative to say about this safari camp apart from the fake maple syrup. As a Canadian, it is my duty to report on that! haha

Yeah, we literally do our best to not work with any camps inside KWS parks anymore. Forst because of the insane amount of people with really takes away from the experience and second because of the insane increase in park fees announced for January 2024 which will make it inaccessible for a lot of people from that point forward.

Its is happening but im gonna be honest with you, we don't like going there. There are hundreds of safari vehicle along the river and it is truly affecting the natural insect of the animal. And because of all the truck it is just not fun.

Thanks for this highlight video of your visit to Surana Safari Camp. It is not good to watch your videos when hungry with all of the good food on your videos. When they serve the Sundown dinners I wonder if they ever have Lions or Leopards that wonder too close in the open Safari. I'm sure they probably have a gun close by just in case. We've done over 100 sundowners and to be honest we have never need predators around. They are not really interested by humans. And surprisingly, most of the time camps don't have armed rangers loll.

Last month I stayed at Sarovas Panafric. Shaba, Lion Hill, & Mara, and Sweetwaters Serena. They all had Maple "flavoured" syrup. Which didn't taste anything like real maple syrup. :(

Folks., totally respect Dave mani content & the business influence aspect. In my humble opinion., Dave mani ratings on this property totally fall short of other quite deserving properties example Soroi & Elewana collections. In Samburu specifically., Saruni by far makes this place look like a training camp. Visited this property with my family and first impression was met with disorganization and confusion by reception staff. It’s like they didn’t expect us as their guests. We expected a game drive later that evening but were disappointed as there were no available vans for the game drive. Our ashnil booking agent, Mr. Simon and hotel reception staff were quite argumentative whilst all we needed was a memorable experience. Not going further into details., Our first impressions on this property totally ruined our Stay.

I am so sorry to read this Sarah. To be honest, everything that has to do with customer service, we can for sure be a bit off on what we say because most properties are aware of us coming in advance to do a review. With that being said, for the property it self we truly loved its design and the fact that it is so different but that is all about personal tastes. We have to give it to you tho, Sirikoi and Elewana as a whole are fantastic properties.

Really? You visit Africa, go on all those stunning safari trips and all you talk over and aver and over again is about food, luxury accommodation , breakfast, lunch and dinner.. So little, almost nothing about all those wonders, so much wild life, so diverse and you present the private pool, your room with the best view of the river and so little about those gentle giants, passing image with elephants ... almost nothing!!!! So disappointing
