Hi Dave and Tracy great filming. I am thinking of coming next year to Kenya and will take your advice an look at Ongeri expaditions . But just wondering is there another country we could fly to from England to make it a bit of a cheaper flight but also maybe have a stop off on way to Kenya. If not where is best to fly into. Thanks Mandy
@DaveMani7 ай бұрын
That is so good to hear! Sadly flights to Kenya are expensive... Might be cheaper to flight to Addis in Ethiopia than Kenya but I am not sure.

Hey @DaveMani! My partner and I (we’re also from Canada) absolutely LOVE your videos! We’re so inspired by the courage of your journey ❤ We had a question about your travels: how do you manage vaccines? We’re actually visiting the Masai Mara for the first time this coming August, so we had to get Yellow Fever and Malaria pills, both of which are quite expensive here in Canada. We’d love to hear about how you manage all the costs when staying for an extended time in Kenya, which is something we’re considering doing in the near future 🙂
@DaveMani6 ай бұрын
Great question. The yellow fever is the only mandatory one for most African countries and we got it once 4 years ago. For the malaria pills listen, I am not a doctor so don't go by what I say but we have never taken a pill in 4 years of living and traveling in Africa full time. Malaria sounds scary from a Canadian point of view bit on this side of the world it just like getting a cold. Most people get it once of twice and their lives and hospital are very aware on own to treat it. Plus, to be honest, I am more scared of the Malaria pill than Malaria itself. That pill is a really strong medication.
@MangoLion946 ай бұрын
Thank you, really appreciate your reply 🙏 we’ll definitely look more into the malaria pills then. You’re a big inspiration. We totally encourage you to continue making awesome videos and living your best life! Signed, a fellow Canadian seeking adventure 🦁

They make it impossible. You need a license which takes 2 weeks of training and $1,500 the registration and the an authorization for every flight...

It's good to see you in Nakuru County. Perhaps you can visit Nakuru City itself. There are good hotels in town like "The Alps" in the town's Milimani area as well as Sarova Woodlands (which is well decorated during Christmas season along with West Side Mall in the city's CBD area). The Sarova Lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park is also a cool place.

When you were at the Elephant Bedroom Camp, were you charged for the bush breakfast? Did you have sundowners and mid morning breaks every day? We thought a bush breakfast would be included so we told our driver we wanted one. For 50.00 a person, we got to stop, sit in the jeep, and had a box with a sandwich, an apple, a juice box and some coffee. We only got one sundowner, standing next to the jeep with a bag of chips on the fender and a plastic glass of wine. We want to know if this was typical? Thank you guys, love your content.
@DaveMani7 ай бұрын
Many camp do charge for a proper bush breakfast and by that I mean a full setup with chairs and table and even live cooking most time. But being charge for a packed breakfast in the truck, I`ve personally never heard of that...
@sxyblnd20027 ай бұрын
@@DaveMani We were very disappointed in the Elephant Bedroom Camp. They were more interested in upcharging than in giving a good experience. 50 a person for a box breakfast, 35 a person for going to the villages of the native people. We told our driver that we did not want to do this. When he picked us up from the airfield, he drove us to the camp on a route with no villages. On the way to the airstrip he drove us right through all of them. This felt like sabotage to us. Trying to make us feel guilty. Anyway, thanks for answering. I thought that "bush breakfast" was not the norm. It was a rip off.
