The gold record of Electric Ladyland on Dave’s wall is well deserved - his 12 string guitar on Watchtower is iconic!
@mikelstevenson49684 жыл бұрын
Dave's 12 string work is Iconic on everything. "We just Disagree", "Every Woman", Especially "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "The Words", "Bird on the Wind". The list goes on. I'm a sessions musician and have done all of his songs on my channel, and I know his work is impossible to emulate. Especially his work in DADGAD tuning.

Unless you were a drummer for a jazz/rock fusion or heavy metal band (which requires a high degree of athleticism), or a vocalist-retaining musical prowess isn’t difficult into the senior years. I was however, pretty impressed by Mason’s vocals.

I’ve seen Mason many times. Once he told a story about being in the US as a young musician when he heard about a young Bob Dylan who was in the UK at the time. Mason flew back to see him perform and was backstage standing next to a black musician when Dylan approached them and they started talking. Dylan said he had a song they could work with. The song...All Along The Watchtower...the black musician, Jimmy Hendrix.

Very glad to see John Cowan make it to the BIG TIME with Dave Mason and crew. I meet him many decades ago when was playing in a Yes cover band. Talked with him the night before he was to audition for a Blue Gras Band called New Grass Revival. I questioned the move with his talents. That band went on the play and tour with the likes of Leon Russell and the Grateful Dead. John has done himself proud and this is proof. Oh, Ya...greal get together and vibes for these times.

I am so happy the day has arrived that I feel okay about Michael McDonald. For the longest time, I felt he had corrupted my beloved Doobie Bros. He seems more hip now than ever. I did enjoy it, but, hot damn I am getting old. Gregg Brown wrote this line in one of his songs that went, "Well, my friends are getting older so I guess I must be, too." I am proud to say my generation was privileged, most especially as regards music. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE?!?!!!!
