One of the best ways to relax on Sunday evening, drifting off to some nostalgia. I miss these feeling during a Sunday. Thank you as always Dave.

Wanna feel old? That commercial for Time Life's "The Rock n Roll Era" came out around 1986. They're selling an album of songs from 1961. If Time Life were to do the same today, they'd be selling an album full of hits from 1997. Such hits as "Wannabe" from the Spice Girls and "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly.

20:47, Well Vanna, My Relationship with My Father showed me what it is to be a racist bigot, how ideas of racial superiority destroyed the family he begat and took no responsibility for when it came time to own up. Luckily My Mother instilled in me compassion and mindfulness canceling my father's teachings.

Huh. Didn't know TBS had been using that "Super Station" moniker for that long. 1:53 - 2:16 No wonder that ad felt suspicious as hell, it's the Scientology guy. Somebody explain to me how Bob Villa in 1989 looked exactly as he did in 1999. The man didn't age. 24:28 - 24:34 Because we'd never do something as stupid as turning back the clock on a woman's right to choose. That'd just just be crazy, right? Right?

Ted Turner started using it in 79 when the station changed from WTCG to WTBS, and broadcasted both as WTBS OTA from Atlanta(till the very early 90's when Ted sold his OTA station sadly), and the national Sat./cable feed as TBS. I live about 3 1/2 hours east of Atlanta, and my grandparents did not get cable TV till the early 00's, but had a kickass roof antenna attached to their main TV, and the TV in their sunroom, and when I would stay with them as a kid in the 80's I watched a lot of WTBS Atlanta, and it was my outlet for Saturday night wrestling, with so many great memories. TBS sure is not what it use to be, but thankfully they still show great AEW Wrestling.

man, 1989 is several lifetimes ago! lots of ads for printed matter, i.e. books & magazines. Time-Life Books had a lock on the market. 1989 was what historian/philosopher Francis Fukuyama called THE END OF HISTORY on account of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of communism, the end of the Cold War etc etc. believing that the spread of liberal democracy in the nations of the world will be the final form of government. an utterly astonishing time to live thru. with all that it was a time for a lot of fun too. oh, & i remember the movie SMASH UP ON INTERSTATE 5 cuz i was a huuuge fan of disaster movies & i couldn't wait for it to be broadcast as the movie of the week way back in 1976! that's right! i'm old!

I find it funny that Minute Rice directly mentioned Uncle Ben as the "brand X" on their commercial then Uncle Ben blatantly had Minute Rice comparison. In my country, brands do not directly name other brands for comparison hence the "brand X / brand Y"
