We don't need to know the language to enjoy Dimash's music. You need to watch him sing and play the dombra in traditional Kazakhstan outfit! He loves his country and loves his family. Oh yes, and his Dears! We love and love his humility

Thank you for your reaction to "Daididau"! I think this is an endearing name for the wife of the poet, who wrote the lyrics.

Brief information about the song: The lyrics of this song were written by Magzhan Zhumayabev(1893-1938). Magzhan Zhumabayev was arrested and sent to prison. In prison, he learned that his wife had left him. With broken heart, he wrote this poem dedicated to his wife.Eventuallt it turned out that his wife had never left him (he had received inccorect information) and they were reunited when he was released from prison in 1936. Unfortunately, their happiness did not last long. In 1938 he was arrested again and executed.

The lyrics are from a Kazakh poem. The poet was imprisoned under Stalin regime and was told his wife had been unfaithful to him, which was a lie. This is the man's response to his wife, Daididau. It was Dimash's childhood dream to perform it on an American stage and in october of 2019 that dream came true. He was overwhelmed when the audience chimed in. Maybe you also reacted to the version at his first solo concert, Bastau, where he played an intro on the dombra with 100 dombra players accompanying him. That was a very emotional performance, too.

👉 Daididau is a poem written in prison by Maghzhan Zhumabayev, a true story. The poet had just been informed that his wife left him, and this song was his reply. He called his wife Daididau - it could be derived from 'дедім айдай ау' - the moon-like. But it was actually a false information, a way to torture him and others that were arrested for conspiracy. He saw her again but only for a short time. He was executed in 1938. This song is well known and very important for the kazakh people. The traditional coat is called Shapan. Here, a video with the story behind this song - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoDWaKWho5hpgpI 🌼 🇩🇪
