As I said before, this is an excellent video. I would love to know the best way to adjust the left margin for each label. Even though I've selected the correct label from the list, the labels print too close to the left edge. I've tried to figure out the best way to add at least 2 spaces, without having to add them manually. Any ideas?

If I want to pull out one city, since they are mixed, is there a way to pull out that one city or am I going to have to make a copy and delete the ones I don't want?

Hi Dave! I followed your tutorial and made my Christmas labels. It all worked except when I made changes to the Excel spreadshhet. I saved the excel sheet - but it didn't show up as changes to the word labels. Do I have to do the mail merge again and start over?

This was great however, it assumed it was address labels pulling from a data file. My list is just names with a greeting on top, which is not coming out. The label comes out great the greeting disappears however, thank you. I used to do this from an access data file. This was easier.

At about 5:00 into your presentation, you give instructions for selecting recipients. When I select 'use an existing list' on my Mac and select the Excel file, a popup message appears warning me of a security risk. Since I am confident my file is not malicious, I select 'yes' to proceed. Then a popup menu appears showing the Excel document I'm opening and it asks for a 'cell range.' The half-tone default is 'entire worksheet.' Whether or not I accept that or enter a cell range, I can not access 'edit recipient list' following this step. I'm stuck here...

Thanks! I have found the same problem with some addresses. I think I have found a good solution: After you have done Select Recipients and Edit Recipient List, you need to go back to the Home tab. In the 'Styles' section, you should see Normal selected. You need to select No Spacing instead. Now follow the rest of my video - except where I say you need to press Shift and Enter, just press Enter. When you get to the end, it should produce labels with no spaces where the line is empty. Let me know if it works!

Please help. I created my list as you instructed. I see my list. However, when I request to print, it only print the first page. Once I selected it to print all pages. Thank goodness it didn't because it printed duplicate labels. When I look at the list, it appears fine. Again, I am not able to print how the list appear on screen.

Excellent, comprehensive instructions that covers a few quirks in MSWORD that drove me nuts for years. First, the process used by WORD is not nearly as intuitive as other functions. Also, the need to "insert merge field" has to be used and closed with each field as no mechanism to add spaces or punctuation. Even more helpful is his hint to use SHIFT/ENTER to start new line in label. Without this critical but hidden trick, WORD will space lines too far apart... EXCELLENT help. Finally, the hint to NOT use typical print command in WORD as this will only print first page... Follow tutorial and engage FINISH/MERGE tab to engage printing... great help!!!!

Dave - trying to do a mail merge for labels for first time. When StartingMailMerge, I select labels and then select Averya4/a5 - BUT, my labels are just Avery 8160. I cannot find on the dropdown list this exact choice. I scrolled the entire numberical list and do not see 8160 by itself. Any suggestions?? Many thanks.

When I'm working in Excel occasionally it won't let me type inside a cell unless I leave that sheet, go into another sheet and return. But it continues to do this every time I click a new cell. I cannot figure out why it's doing this.

very instructive video. Thank you. I have a question about my HP Pavilion with windows 10 Pro version 1903. When I press system shutdown or hibernation, the screen goes off, the disk stops, but the on / off switch light illuminates until I press and hold the switch again to turn off the light. Only then the computer is completely turned off. I tried different settings but not the way that would fit my problem. Im asking for help. Thanks and best regards from Slovenia

Dave I really appreciate your help videos and as a rather slow to understand 85 year old I actually understood all explanations. I have a list of about 150 addresses so I thought it might be easier to open a different page of 21 addresses. Now I realise it might be better to have one page of 150 rather than 7+ pages of 21. My edit recipient list is not active. When I select recipients second box prompts to select Use existing list. After excel spreadsheet is selected. A message box appears reads: this file needs to be opened by the excel workbook text converter, which may pose a security risk but in short if I trust file select yes. It will only show you Page 1 on the screen. But when you go to Finish & Merge then Print Documents it will print every label. This part of the process throws everyone off, so I don't know why they don't make it more obvious that you'll get more than 1 sheet of labels.
