Hi Dave, great little demo... helped pursued me to go get one. Just for you own interest, a Macchiato, is an Italian Expresso with just a dash of milk. Macchiato, pronounced 'Makk ee arto', means 'stained' or 'marked' in Italian, so it is a coffee with just a small dash of milk, as opposed to a latte, which is Italian for 'Milk' so a 'Cafe Latte' is a 'milk coffee'. Lait(e) is also French for Milk. Always make sure you order a 'Cafe Latte' when in Italy or France, because if you just order a Latte, you'll just get a glass of milk! We make our coffee for regular use the in a coffee pot but I got this machine as an after dinner coffee since we don't make a pot for that and also for a special drink since we can't get out to have that special Starbucks coffee made by the professional machines which is what makes theirs so great. We do drink the Italian coffee daily which for us is less bitter and smoother but sometimes we like the lattes etc. which is why I purchased this machine. The "blue" button is for cold water and makes iced coffees etc. The "red" is as stated in the video for hot water. It is something that is for us a bit of a pleasure as opposed to worrying about cost or whether to make coffee the old fashioned way "so-to-speak" vs the new way. It isn't a machine I would use for our daily coffee needs as it is limited to one cup at a time and that would get too expensive.

This product is very easy to use. There is a hot and cold button for hot or cold drinks which when you purchase their capsules you will already determine which you prefer and they instruct you as well. Each capsule has the bars needed as indicated and you scroll the wheel to the desired or instructed amount of bars for that capsule. You can add a bit more water if something is too strong for your taste by either selecting an additional bar when you first set it or after it has completed then adding a bar or two and pushing the "hot" or "cold" button whichever applies and allowing the machine to add more water before either removing the cup or putting in the next capsule that might be required (milk + coffee = latte). Each box of the desired drink has the required capsules so if a latte then the box contains the coffee (black container/capsule) and the latte (white container/capsule). To do a drink with that requires both capsules you simply select the required/desired bars after inserting the first capsule (the lid of the box shows you which capsules as well) and allow the machine to complete that process and when done then discard the first capsule and insert the second following the required bar instructions. Once complete you have your drink and can add whatever sweeteners (if required) or anything else you may want to add like syrups for flavorings etc. I can say that the drinks I have made so far including the hot chocolate does give a nice froth. It is required to clean the pin that pierces the capsules upon occasion and the required tool is included and they also recommend cleaning the pot with a descaler upon occasion as well.

just to let you know, on the cup for the coffee or milk it shows you the recommended amount to set the scroll, and the blue button makes a cold drink, like if you wanted a ice cappuccino, you get a, cold iced cappuccino.

Nb: the capsules are designed for single use only. If you run it again like you did in this clip you risk flow back of water into your machine which will screw it up. If you want it to fill for longer, set your fill level at the front before you press the red button to start the flow of water :)

I have a kettle which whistles when it has boiled. I put s 2p teabag in and 10p worth of milk plus 3p worth of sweeteners, in total it costs 15p or £0.15 which is about $9

If like me you are trying to figure out how to use a Nescafé dolce gusto krups machine that has no power button at all (not sure what model this is) you need to plug it in, open it and put in the coffee capsule (as shown in this video), then put the stick with the blue and red dot to the right (assuming you want hot). Then once it makes a noise, put that stick to the middle then to the right again. And put it back to the middle once you want it to stop the coffee liquid! In sum there's no power button at all... such a weird coffee machine...

Cute and convenient but too limited for me I need complete control not too worried about convenience or ease of use. I want great tasting fresh coffee or else why even bother with the espresso s, lattes, mochas. Either way very good video and informative.

Exactly. There are "cups" with (presumably) dehydrated milk (and probably some sweetener) that add a kinda frothy milk to the coffee, depending on what pack you buy.

You can buy reusable cups and foils online and buy your beans at the store and use the store grinder to grind it to espresso grind. A lot cheaper than the pods if you just want regular coffee.
