When I heard the music I shed tears of happiness to see all of the actors,actresses that appeared on lhop of the talent that they had . Fantastic ! But then I also shed tears of sadness to know that they died . Ouch ! It really truly honestly does hurt to know someone who's your favorite movie star or stars has died for some reason . I know, I understand the grief for the loss . I have even heard the saying they're in a better place,don't have to hurt any more . We each have our favorite actors,actresses .

Being less than 2 years younger than Melissa Gilbert, I watched this show every week from the first pilot to the Last Farewell. It was only after watching this video a couple years ago that I realized how many actors were from my parents' and grandparents' generations. You don't think about that when you see them forever young (or at least not so old) on rreruns, videos, and DVDS.

I have had a chance to watch the show season by season the last few weeks and it is amazing how many actors that I remember from other TV shows like The Hogan Family (Justin Bateman), 90210 (Shannon Doherty), Dukes of Hazard (Sorrell Booke), Different Strokes (Todd Bridges), The New Gidget (Dean Butler) and Charles in Charge (James Callahan). Amazing to see how most of these actors were born in the early 1900's, they saw the amazing changes in technology.

There were over I believe more than 100 people who were on lhop . I knew some of them by face,names or both . When I seen them with the face,name,it gave when the person died I felt sympathy for their families,friends . My heart dropped when there were people who seemed to be young that had died . It made me wonder what happened to them . Not being nosy only concerned,caring . For all the people who were in lhop they made the programs really truly honestly wonderful . They did their very best in the careers that they were in . As they say gone but not forgotten . As fans of the programs all of us love you so very much and dearly miss you all . May all of rest in peace . May God watch over all of you in heaven . Amen .

Since they died after 2013, I thought of three other significant guest stars: Robert Loggia from Season 9 "Rage" 1930-2015, Theodore Bikel from Centennial Season 2 (1924-2015) and William Schallert (1922-2016) from Season 6 Preacher Takes a Wife, imdb says Schallert was in Centennial as well.

"LHOTP was on in the 70's up until the early 80's at the time when westerns were disappearing and LHOTP was the closest thing to being a western and there were many guest actors that appeared in many types of TV shows & films but many usually seen in westerns,but there were other well known actors that were big name actors,veteran actors whose careers were fading and it was the last performances of several of them, several veteran TV and film villains guest on their too, also young actors that got their start on here,and behind the scenes veteran stunt performers,directors,producers,writers,etc., so LHOTP wasn't really a western like Bonanza,Gunsmoke,etc., no shoot em ups,gunmen,now one episode did feature Jesse and Frank James hiding out in Walnut Grove after the bank robbery there in Minnesota,but it was about the frontier,pioneers & farmers, occasional episodes featuring the native Americans that lived there, I'd call it a pioneer western drama mixed with humor, Thanks."-🤔🖥☕🐂🐃🐄🐎🐴....
