Gotta love the 9 Panel grid... that's also the alternative title for this channel.

Haha -- it is genuinely a decision to make sure I'm not just waxing lyrical about why the grid is interesting, so hopefully this a little more specific on Aja's approach to it... - Hass

Strip Panel Naked I really liked this video, don't get me wrong. It actually made me read that comic. Aja is a really cool artist.

David Aja is a wonderful artist, he always founds a way to play with the medium in different and interesting ways, some times even in his covers. The first issue of “The Seeds” was incredible. Another amazing video, good job

I would love to see you try making videos of not so good comics and say in what way they could made their point clearer to the reader

This usually gets asked, but it's a it more difficult because it's sometimes hard to know what the reason for something not working is, so I try instead if there's something like that I want to talk about, I try to find an example of something similar that has worked and focus on that instead. - Hass

Strip Panel Naked I understand. Thanks for responding. Your videos help a lot while I'm making my comic.

@@StripPanelNaked that's probably something that a guest artist could do, since each artist has their own way of resolving those issues. I'd be very interested in that as well!

this book is SO tight in writing and in art. The different stories we follow blend perfectly together. I was extremely impressed and I think this may be the best issue I have read this year, it's a contender anyway. Thanks for doing an episode on this.

I think the caption boxes up top and bottom are different voices, or characters - eg, the top one is different from the bottom. It's a visual way to differentiate them.

Hey Hass, can you do the Promethea issue 20, page 7. and how you can read the two pages clockwise and anti/clockwise and it makes sence both ways?

Seriously, dudes, what's with the sucking up to this guy? There is nothing about David Aja's art that attracts me to his books. IT. LOOKS. SO.BORING. Somebody please explain to me how this users manual-style art is appealing.

Haha, I'm a huge fan! I think his storytelling is really, really strong, narratively. And his style works for me as a reduced/minimalist approach in things like Hawkeye, but also in this the tone is incredibly striking. What don't you like about his art? - Hass
