I mean I absolutely adore his voice, but I feel that the original essence of the song doesn't really carry through :( I can't feel the original sense of desperate and hesitant hope, or the disbelief filled joy. But overall, I was genuinely blown away by his voice. Its absolutely stunning :3

@born2broadway The official video is certainly a heart-felt performance and I love Mariah's high-pitch parts, but there's a bit too much ad lib (or that sort of effect, since it may not be unscripted) for my liking and I always love David's music. I'm also not a fan of Whittney Housten, I just like some of her songs and like some of Mariah's music and singing. I hope that partly answers your question :)
