With the knockdown, their feet got tangled and Benavidez was caught off balance. Still, like you said Morrell connected, so it counts as a knockdown. Losing that extra point to the ref (hitting after the bell) proved Morrell's inexperience as a pro. Even so, it would not have changed the final outcome.

I think what happened was David Morell didn't use his jab enough to create distance between himself and David Benavidez, in addtion to that, he should have used his footwork more and used more head movement. I believe he could have won the fight if he fought his style of boxing and using his counter punching ability and his reach Advantage, he let Benavidez close the distance too much , and Benavidez showed his experience. It was a good fight, and this will benefit Morell in the long run in terms of experience Benavidez caught him at the right time but Morell will be back better than ever

Its been a long time since an entire card was great. It was definitely a great card. The fight of the card in my opinion was not the main event but Cruz vs Fierro was the fight of the night.
